"Okay, are we ready?" i asked as i started up the Toyota.

We had just loaded all our bags, the packed up tent, food, first aid kit and rifles from Milly's house into the boot of the car. I put the clutch in, started it up, and drove down the long driveway to the highway. Danny had passed out from the pain of being stabbed.

I was getting dizzy from the frenzy this morning. This was not how we thought the morning would go. We thought we would sleep in, wake up to the sound of silence and just chill for a while. Then go back up to the house, maybe drive around the paddock bomb for a while.

But instead we woke up to screams, fear and an injured 12 year old brother Danny, who had just passed out. This was like, the opposite of how we thought the morning would go.

I called Anne. "Hey Anne. You now how we had that plan about a zombie apocalypse, to go to your house? Well that plan is being activated right now" I explained.

"Wait, ... there is an apocalypse? Oh god. Okay well, i will prepare the house. My parents are at work so that will give me time to gather everything and when you get here we can head up the back and set up the tent in the valley. there, we will be safe for a while. Until we have to use plan B" She told me quickly. I heard her cursing.

Plan B was the school. Because it had plenty of places to hide out, we would get a mattress from the sick bay, and food from the cafeteria

I hung up as we neared her road. I wasn't the best driver, I had only driven before like, twice, and one of the times was the day before. Shay didn't want to drive in case we nearly crashed gain. I felt a little daunted by the fact i went from driving an old paddock bomb Ute, to a big four-wheel-drive Toyota. Also because behind the wheel, i was responsible for four lives in the car, 5 including myself.

The Toyota rattled along as we drove along the dirt road. I pushed down the accelerator, the engine revved and we whizzed down the road. i looked over my shoulder at Danny, he was lying across the legs of Shay and Milly, all were asleep. Well, one unconscious.

I looked at Trixie, she was staring intensely out the window, with a worried expression. i was worried too, but i didn't want to show it. Because, 1; i wanted to believe my father would come back with a cure if he ever came back at all. 2; I had to be strong for my friends, because i considered my self the leader at the moment. Then 3; because i thought it would make surviving this new hell, a lot easier

Somehow.....
