I’m 5’6 and pretty skinny, but I have the curves in all the right places. The complexion of my skin is fair and smooth. My eyes are an amber colour, but they look a green-brown at the moment. My copper red curls sit just above my bum. My boobs were that of an average size, not too big but not too small. They do attract quite a bit of attention, it’s really annoying. My name is Eiralys Eiriana Blackwood and I’m seventeen.

My mum was obsessed with names beginning with E and that was of welsh origin. You can even see this with my older brother Eirian, his full name is Eirian Eiros Blackwood. Our names are of a welsh origin yet our surname is a village in Scotland and we don’t even live in Scotland or Wales for that matter. And even our mums name isn’t as weird as ours, her name is Maryellen. Dad insisted that she didn’t name us this but he never won. He died about two years ago due to a car accident. The ambulance came a minute too late; he died alone in his car. After that happened, mum couldn’t cope with dad’s death so a family friend took us in. They were worried about mum and so was I. They have a daughter my age so we were alright. We became friends instantly, well not instantly. We've known each other since we were one. Her name is Holly Beaumount.

My alarm clock rang. I looked over to see the time, it was 6:00. I sighed, it was time for school. I didn’t sleep at all, last night. The first day back. Today is Thursday the 1st September and it’s my birthday. Lucky me! Like I said earlier I’m seventeen, today. I heard bangs on my bedroom door. Two people burst into the room. It was Holly and Eirian. They both had presents in their hands. There wasn’t just one or two but it seemed like they had twenty, each!

“Aww, you didn’t have to,” I yawned. They just laughed at me.

“Eiralys! Open this one first. Please, please, please, please” she bounced up and down on my bed. It looked like she was more excited than I was.

“If I open yours first, would you stop bouncing on me?” I asked as Holly nodded eagerly. I giggled as I took the elegant looking box from her hand. My initial reaction was to shake it near my ear to se if I could hear anything. I heard a faint sound. I pulled it away and pulled the bright red ribbon that was wrapped around. I opened the lid to reveal a silver chain with the letters EEB on it. “Holly, w...wow this must have cost a lot” I stuttered slightly, my eyes going wide. I looked at my clock, it was 6:20. Today was going to go long. “We’ve got to get ready. We don’t want to be late on our first day back!” They both agreed. We each had an ensuite bathroom so the two of them retreated.

As it was our first day back I wanted to make an impression, plus it was the first day of sixth form. I had a quick shower in luke-warm water. As I dried myself off, my mobile started ringing. I wrapped my purple towel around me and went to answer it. I saw who it was, it was my friend Laurence. I smiled as I answered the phone. Laurence was a friend I’ve known for ages, even longer than what I’ve known Holly. So he knows just about everything about me. He even helped me a lot after my dad died. One thing I forgot to mention about him, he’s gay. He is pretty easy to talk to, when the girls aren’t around. “Hello? Is this Maddie?” I questioned.

“It’s me Laurence. How could you say that?” he pretended to be offended and tell me off. The whole Maddie thing was because my brother had once called him Maddie at one of my birthday parties, after that I just couldn’t leave it alone. It’s soo off but hey it was funny.

“I’m guessing you calling to...”

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAL!!” he shouted through the phone. I had to hold it a foot away from my ear.

“Well thank you Lorry! And I’m guessing I’m getting presents from you today then?” I thanked and asked.

“Yup! But I’m not saying you’ll have to wait. I’ll see you at school, mum wants me. Cya” he said bye and hung up.
