Lorry and I found our way to maths easily, we were the first ones here not even Mr Jordan was here. I sighed. I guess we shouldn’t have rushed then. We saw our teacher turn out of the maths staffroom, and giggled softly. He passed us and smiled. At this point I was glad, really glad.

“Hey, Mr Jordan” I greeted him smiling, as I took my seat in the front like usual. Lorry took the chance to sit in the front, last year he came late and had to sit at the back the whole of last year. He wasn’t happy about that.

“Eiralys and Laurence, I see I have you this year too. I wouldn’t have thought you to take it further Eiralys,” he replied smiling back.

“Well I think I may need maths at a-level for the course I wanna do at Uni sir, plus I like maths. It’s one of my favourite subjects, well next to science.” I replied. He just nodded. He also smiled. I think he was happy that I too enjoyed ‘the love of his life’ like he always says. I saw others file into the class, I saw a couple girls glare at me and Lorry. I gave them a smile in return. He did the register and we started on some work. It was mainly just games that involved maths though. After about an hour of playing various games, Mr Jordan told us what we were in store for the coming year. After that he just let us talk. This was a good way to start the day. This lesson went pretty fast. Maths always does, I hate it though. I wanted more time for maths.

After maths, me and Laurence went to sixth form. Break was only twenty minutes; it didn’t give us much time to talk. Anyway we stayed near the front of the sixth form area to make sure we didn’t miss any of our friends. It only took about two minutes when everyone in our group appeared. There was a whole load of chatter about the summer holidays. There was talk about a new biology teacher among the sixth formers who just had the subject. According to the girls he was young and hot. I’m guessing this was the mysterious Mr Conoway, which the other teachers knew nothing about. I was now looking forward to next lesson. I knew it was coming as they all went quiet. Caidee, one of my good friends who happened to be a cheerleader for our school cheerleading team, counted down from three. My group of twenty friends went into the happy birthday song, the whole lot enjoying it.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LYS! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!” They all shouted and sung. The whole of the sixth form area went quiet and looked my way. I shied away behind my group of friends. Finally the chatter resumed.

“Way to embarrass me, guys!” I thanked them miserably but also going red. They all took turns to wish me happy birthday and give me their many presents they had got me. By the end of break I had a big pile of birthday presents. There were a lot of bags I had to carry to next lesson. Was this day gonna get any better?

I’ll just have to see who was in my class now. I had my school bag slung around my shoulder lightly. I started to gather all the present bags on the floor. Laurence, Holly and Jake stayed to help me pick everything up. Once everything was gathered we all set different ways. Laurence made his way to accountancy, Holly made her way to dance and Jake and I set of towards science, he had chemistry though. I made my way to S1 to find people still filing in. As I walked in I saw a young looking man sitting on the teacher’s desk, but I couldn’t see him clearly as a group of girls were surrounding him. I sat down near the front, like I’ve always done since year six.

“Come on girls. Go sit down and we’ll get to know each other in a bit. Okay?” I heard this man say. All the girls agreed, I’ve only ever seen this happen with one teacher and that was Mr Jordan. This guy must be hot. As the girls turned around and saw me in front, they death glared me. Well you snooze, you lose, right? I returned their glare with a sarcastic smile. As they dispersed to their seats, I saw what the girls meant. In front of me, stood a man in his early twenties. He was the best looking guy I have ever seen; even Mr J. couldn’t compete with this guy. He had messy chocolate brown short hair with bright blue eyes which were almost mesmerising. His face was perfectly chiselled, as if it was done by hand on stone. He was about half a foot taller than me, I’m not too sure though. I’m not sure how to describe him apart from the best looking and most perfect guy I’ve ever seen. One thing that went through my mind was that something had to be wrong with the guy as no one was perfect. “Eiralys? I did say that right, right?” he called and asked, looking around the room.
