Matt (Taurus) POV:
I walked into my first period class with my stomach growling like crazy, everyone looking up to see who the idiot that was late on the first day was. I may or may not have forgot to set my alarm last night, but that didn't go unpunished. I didn't even have enough time to eat! This school year was going to be the death of me, that's for sure. I looked around quickly to see that the teacher wasn't even in the class yet; so I looked around, finding the only seat left next to Leah.
"Hey," She whispered to me once I slipped into my chair, "How the hell did you manage that?" I looked at her in complete confusion.
"What are you talking about?" I asked her in a low voice. She huffed slightly at me and crossed her arms.
"Mr. Walsh's computer shut down and wouldn't start again. Right before the bell rang, he went to the office to get a paper copy of the attendance sheet," She explained, "and you get here late, completely avoiding punishment. How the hell did you manage that?" I smirked at Leah cockily.
"Seems like luck is on my side, my friend," I said, my smug expression only fading when Mr. Walsh walked in with an attendance sheet in hand. He glanced around the room, his gaze stopping at me, frowning more than he already was, then continued to his desk. It took only a minute for him to organize his papers, then beginning to stand, probably to start some boring-ass speech about what we'll be learning and a bunch of stupid rules that we "have" to follow, but the sound of the intercom cut him off. Mr. Walsh sighed in frustration, then sat back down as someone started to speak. It was an annoying, peppy voice that spoke. It was the SGA (student government association) president, Lily.
"Another wonderful first day at Tremhart high school! This year..." She began to say, but I blocked out her voice. I didn't want to start the day with a major headache. I pressed my hand to my head, Leah leaning towards me.
"She's already starting the first headache of the year?" Leah snickered silently.
"Nah, all I can think about is how many freshman's heads are going to explode before she even finishes speaking," I joked back, "I mean, it could be worse. She could be really stuck up and bitchy, but she's not."
"True, true," Leah admitted.
"Though I still think Katie would've made a better president," I said.
"I do too, but she didn't even run for anything," Leah reminded me. I shrugged, looking over my shoulder to see Katie in the back corner of the class, playing with a piece of her hair. When I looked back at Leah, she was wiggling her eyebrows and smirking.
"W-What?" I asked, stuttering as I did. I didn't understand what she was doing, and to be completely honest, she looked like a complete idiot doing it. Leah rolled her eyes at me as though I was acting like I was completely oblivious to whatever she thought was happening. Though I kind of was.
"C'mon, you don't have to hide it~" She said in a teasing tone. This only made me more confused than I was to begin with.
"Can you please explain what's going on?" I asked her awkwardly. She sighed at me and laid her head on her hand.
"You like Katie~" She teased some more. That didn't help at all.
"But I don't li-" I cut off. The announcements were over and everyone turned to look at me and my loud-ass mouth. I looked around with a nervous smile thinking I couldn't get too bad. It's not like they heard everything. It can't get worse than this.
I spoke too soon. My stomach growled awkwardly loud and a few people snorted quietly. I let myself sink down my chair and frowned. I glanced back to see Katie giving me a slight 'I've been there' kind of look, then returned her attention to the front of the class.Leah (Aquarius) POV:
I mentally slapped Matt for being oblivious to the most obvious things. At least I think they would make a cute couple. A droning voice shook me from my thoughts. Mr. Walsh had started his explanation of how the year would go, but he kept getting interrupted by Matt's stomach. I sighed internally as I reached into my bag to grab something-anything to shut his stomach up. I got hold of something and pulled it out, finding that I had a snickers bar. Smirking, I handed the bar to Matt.
"Here, bro, you get loud when you're hungry," I said as he took it out of my hand. A majority of the class heard me and turned around, a few of them bursting out laughing. Matt frowned and unwrapped the candy bar and took a bite into it. "Better?"
"Shut the hell up," Matt growled as he took another bite.
