Eliza.
I groaned thinking that it's Cody but when I grabbed my phone, it was the number 555-0724. I slid my finger across the screen and answered the phone.
"This is Eliza Sanders" I spoke into the phone. I took the phone away from my ear and hit the speaker button.
"Ah Eliza calling at eight pm I see." Spoke the unmistakeable voice of Mr. Chase Allen.
"Chase? You gave me a personal number? What kind of person does that? You know I could've been a creepy stalker that hacked your e-mails and called you to find out where you are to kidnap you and lock you up in my god forsaken basement." I ranted and I heard a small chuckle coming from the other side of the phone.
"Eliza, you really know how to make a person laugh don't you, I presume you're calling about the job as my personal assistant?" He replied. I could hear the smirk through the phone.
"Uhm okay first of all the e-mail said nothing about a PA just a normal everyday assistant and second of all, yes." I stated correcting him. I actually have a habit of correcting people when they're wrong. It's just the way I am.
"Well Eliza, it's getting pretty late, I'll call you in the morning to schedule an interview, I look forward to calling you tomorrow Kitten." There's that name again. Does he think this is some kind of joke? Just shake it off Eliza, you need this job. And then I thought. Well if you can't beat 'em join 'em.
"I look forward to hearing from you in the morning. Oh and Chase?" I said
"Yes?" He replied.
"Do me a favor. Don't dream about me too much, Daddy." That was all I had to say, I'm still a virgin for crying out loud, I feel so dirty. I heard a loud growl erupting on the other side of the line and then I ended the call.
I put the phone under my pillow and snuggled into my plush converter once more. That's when I heard a noise coming from my kitchen. I shake it off and try to sleep again. There it is, I get out of my bed and grab the baseball bat I have hidden under my bed. I slowly walk through the corridor towards the kitchen, just as I emerge in the doorframe I see Cody.
"Are you crazy?" I almost yell at him. "I could've killed you, or badly hurt you or done something bad!" I say with a serious look on my face. I mean I'm trying really hard not to laugh but there's a twenty-two yeah old man child sitting at my kitchen table eating a tub of chocolate ice cream.
I grab a spoon from the cabinet and decide to join him. I dig my spoon into the ice cream and eat it.
"So, what was Chase doing at your house?" I ask and Cody suddenly becomes dense.
"No reason, we found each other on Facebook and decided to catch up on how life has been." He answers nonchalantly and shrugs.
"Bullshit!" I reply knowing he's lying to me.
"Eliza it's nothing I swear" he replies eating another spoon full of chocolate ice cream.
"You look pretty dense and I know you're hiding something from me Cody, and if you won't tell me what it is, then I'm just going to have to find out for myself. Now if you don't mind I've had a really tough day so please leave." I say getting up. I open the door and he leaves. I watch as he walks down the driveway and speeds out of sight. I feel a pang in my chest, great now I feel guilty for being so rude to him.
I head to my room and instantly fall asleep.
I am rudely awakened by my phone ringing. I check the caller ID and it's Cody.
"Cody? It's six in the morning why are you calling me?" I asked a little upset. It's a Saturday morning all I want to do is sleep in and wait for my call form Chase.
It's winter so it's still pretty dark at six am. "Eliza? You know what?" He slurred his words, he's drunk. "I think you're just sexually frustrated and you need someone to help you get over it, that would explain why you're so damn pissy all the time." I felt kind of hurt by his words so I just stayed quiet.
"Goodbye Cody." Was all I could say before hanging up the phone and turning it off. I know he's drunk but you know what they say, drunk words are sober thoughts. I don't even care about the interview anymore. I just want to lay in bed and sleep.
About four to five hours later I hear a knock at my door. That woke me up. More knocking came as I walk down the hallway rubbing my eyes.
"I'm coming chill the hell out!" I yell at the person on the other side. I unlock my door and low and behold it's Chase.
"Are you okay? What happened? Are you hurt?" He asked all at once.
"I'm fine, nothing happened and I'm fine, why?" I asked suddenly remembering he was gonna call.
"Well you didn't answer any of my calls so I thought there's something wrong." He replied all the worry in his features fading.
"Why do you care?" I asked.
