Consider this scenario:
A and X are two pronumerals.
They realized they were supposed to be together, and after a whirlwind courtship, married and became very, very happy together. But, soon after the delirious happiness wore off, A and X began to argue. A was cheating on X, X was cheating on A, and they could never agree.
They argued for weeks about how each had broken the others heart. The arguing made them both miserable, to such a point that they were crying themselves to sleep alone over the pain they were causing each other.
They agreed that the pain was not worth it, and agreed to go their separate ways. They left each other, their hearts torn and bleeding, and divorced, never to be the same again.
A and X tried making their love work when they realized that the feelings were still there, but nothing was ever the same. They agreed to leave the relationship as it was, and move far away from each other. They didn't see each other for a very long time.
A tried very hard to forget X, and almost succeeded.
X was engaging in several new relationships, but inside always knew that A was the one, and that they had ruined their chance.
When A met C, it was exactly the thing that A needed to forget X.
She had moved on, and thought she was over X for good.
In a way C was A's rebound. But a perfect, sweet, lovely rebound. A loved C, but in a different way that she had loved X. There was no passion; it was not a flame of infatuation.
It was quiet, peaceful, and in a way, it was just what A needed.
Because as great as the love and happiness had been with X, so also, eventually, was the pain and loss, and A didn't know if she could face it again. And that amount of love- of wanting somebody so much you feel insane every second of the day- makes you go crazy. It's the type of love that made A want to laugh and cry at the same time, Made A cut off A's hair and watch romantic movies at 3 am, and made A feel like she was about to explode all the time. It drove them both crazy, but A and X both loved it.
When A was with C, there was only a slow love, just like friendship. A knew that C could never make A happy.
When A and C were in the middle of a serious relationship, X returned to the town.
When X returned, A remembered all of the previous feelings A had for X, and all the love they felt for each other came flooding back to A.
X still felt exactly the same. X proposed to A, and A's heart was telling her with all of its strength to run away and elope with X.
But C still loved A, and A knew that if she ran away with her former lover, she would shatter C's heart into a million pieces.
A would never want to do that to a person she loved- A tried to think a way around the problem, but there was no alternative: A could either leave C heartbroken and elope with X, or try A's best to forget X and stay in a cold, loveless relationship with C.
X persuaded A- with a proposal in Latin, and boundless love telling her to elope, how could A say no? All the pain X and A caused each other was forgotten, because they both knew they would never do that to each other again.
A left with X that very night, for Gretna Green.
When they returned, A and X were married and blissfully in love. After a small ceremony conducted by Reverend F. B. Chat, they travelled home.
X and A worked in different places- both had gruelling, horrible jobs, forced on all pronumerals by the law. It was 6 hour a day imprisonment, but the thought of each other helped them get by.
But A and C worked in the same location, and A now has to see C everyday, facing the pain and judgement in C's eyes and knowing its all true. Knowing that, despite loving C, A caused C's heart to break.
C declared that the heart A had broken would never heal, despite claims from several of A's friends that A was not worth all this pain and hardship- C had several more, better suitors, but C's heart was too damaged after A's cruelty to care.
Now, A and X are deliriously happy, and C is still heartbroken.
Yes, what A did to C was wrong, but could A deny true love?
A, X and C want your opinions because (as usual) math can't solve its own problems and need YOUR help.
Should A go back to C?
Was X wrong?
Should C move on?
Is A a mean whore?
What do you think?
