Maya walked down the beach with her friend Raquel. She couldn't withstand any longer - she had to ask-
"Do you believe in mermaids?"
"Um.... What? Where did that question come from? And... I guess I do... But, it just seems unlikely. Do you?"
"No, I don't. I saw it on the discovery channel, and I couldn't help but wonder...," Maya answered truthfully.

"Yeah. It's kind of weird, isn't it? I mean, what if there's another form of life out there, and we don't even know about it?"
