Troye:
I sauntered through the crowded streets of Brighton, my senses alive as a cool breeze swept over my body. I heard cackling behind me and turned around to see Tyler pointing at something on Connor's head. I got closer and recognized the white splotch as bird droppings. I tried to hold back my laughter as he looked up at me, his face beet red. I handed him a napkin that I had in my back pocket from lunch and he took it gratefully. Tyler shook his head, grinning, and followed Zoe in the direction of the pier. Seeing that Connor had gotten everything out of his hair, I ruffled it playfully and chuckled as he ducked out my reach. He started towards them and I called his name. He stopped and turned around, his eyebrows furrowed questioningly.
"Give me a piggy back," I demanded dragging myself over to him, "I'm tired." He gave me a look and shook his head, "No! You can walk."
"Please?" I said tugging on his sleeve.
He rolled his eyes, but obliged; bending down so I could climb onto his back. He hoisted me up and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
We headed off down the pier and I leaned down, next to his ear.
"Thank you," I said and he turned to face me, "You are very welcome."
I squeezed him tightly and rested my chin on his shoulder.
We caught up to the others by the empty beach and I picked my head up, gazing out at the waves.
The wind died down as the water gently rolled against the sand. We watched as the sun set below the horizon, the sky a beautiful shade of red. Tyler and Zoe walked down the short hill and sat near the shore.
I heard Connor sigh happily and I kissed the top of his head.
"Aren't your arms tired?" I asked, laughing softly.
"A bit," he admitted, "Want to get down now?"
He lowered me slowly and I hopped onto the sandy ground. I watched as he stood up, looking out at the water. A pink glow lit up the side of his face and I watched in awe as he closed his eyes, completely at ease. My breathing stuttered as I walked up behind him, slipping my arms around his chest. He smiled and turned around to face me. After glancing around, he leaned forward until his nose touched mine. I looked into his eyes when I felt his hand close around my fingers. His hot breath hit my face as his lips parted slightly.
"Troye?"
"Yeah?" I said airily, glancing down at his mouth. Time stood still as he moved closer, his lips brushing against my ear. I held my breath as I waited for him to do something, my eyes closing.
"Race you to the water!"
He charged down the sand to the water below. I stood with my mouth hanging open before chasing after him with vengeance.
I had just passed Zoe when Connor splashed into the waves, submerging himself completely.
I ran into the water and jumped onto him. He came up for air a second later and hurled himself at me, dragging me out further into the ocean. When we reached a point where we could barely stand, I pulled him up.
"I hate you," I proclaimed, punching his bicep.
"Hey!" he cried, rubbing his arm, "You love me."
He smirked and shook his wet hair, letting it rain onto me. I glared at him before grabbing him by the back of his neck and pulling him underwater with me. He looked at me, startled, and I pressed my lips against his. He groaned, closing his eyes and resting his hand on my chest. His mouth moved against mine slowly, but forcefully until I pulled away a little, staring into his eyes longingly. I pushed my head out of the water and he did the same. His lips were bright red and he blushed when he saw my eyes unconsciously trail down his chest to his abs.
