"Guy";

I can hear the craft fly away and I smile wordlessly to myself. She is quite... Intriguing, I think to myself. I look at the black of my vision and my smile grows wide. In a matter of minutes, it would gone and in its place would be color. I continue to walk on the off walk, clicking my tongue occasionally.

Just a little further. I count my steps and when I reach twenty one, I turn left. I begin counting again. One, two, three, four... I count my steps to fifteen and turn right. I count to five and I reach my front door.

I fumble to find the door knob and turn it. I step in and give a sigh of relief as the blackness faded and colors burst forth. I look at the painting, the books, the vases, the tables, anything that had color.

I can't wait to show her this. I smile.

I stare out my front door. Even though I would only be gone for a few hours, it would continue to feel like a lifetime. Past my front door, all I can see is darkness.

I inch forward, slowly, until I am fully out the door. The blackness engulfs me in its coldness. I shiver and begin to walk to the craft stop.

"'Guy'!" I hear Mia call me. I quickly hurry to her, stumbling a little.

"Hush, Mia. Not need to know, remember?

"Sorry." Her voice was almost a whisper. "I just got really exited."

"Oh? And why's that?" I begin to tease her.

"Because I get to see you." She said in a matter-of-factly kind of tone. I gap for a second. That wasn't the kind of response I imagined. She's not like-- I cut off my thought and I can't help but smile.

"What?" She stared at me. I shake my head.

"N-nothing. I'm just day-- my minds wonder--" I sigh. "Just not paying attention, I guess." Why do I want to share those phrases with her? I've only just met her.

"Don't worry, I do that a lot. So much that there should be a word for it." I can hear the smile in her voice and I too smile but bitterly.

"Yeah there really should." I say with some hostility. Mia stays quiet. "Sorry." I say quietly. "I seem to have made you uncomfortable."

"N-no, nothing like that!" She hurries to get her words out. "It's just - and I don't mean to offend you - you seem, I don't know, angry." I turn my head away from her voice. "Why are you so upset?" She takes my hand.

I remember yesterday, when I had touched her. I remember how fast her heart was beating, like mine now. She is truly a mystery. I swallow hard and face her. "I can't tell you. I want to but I can't." She sighs sadly.

"All in good time?" I give a small nod.

"I just don't know if I can trust you yet." I hear her take in a breath to speak, but she stops. I suddenly realize that she still had my hand.

"Uh, Mia? My hand?"

"Hm? Oh! S-sorry." She quickly releases. Though I couldn't see her, I could tell her face was bright red. The craft came to a stop and we stood. My face still burned red.

"Ah, Mia? Why do you still continue to be nice me?" Mia chuckled slightly.

"It's improper--"

"I know, I know, but that's not really and answer..." Mia stayed quiet, as if she was thinking.

"Well, I like talking to you, and you make me smile." I open my mouth to say something but close it. I open my mouth again, and am still at a lose for words. I heard Mia chuckle.

"I'm sorry, but your face changed color." She giggles. I hadn't realized we were walking, until I almost tripped down the steps of the craft. "Whoa there." Mia caught me by my wrist and elbow. I shook her off off and righted myself.

"Thanks. For helping me, when I tripped."

"Of course." She replied simply. We walk in silence for a long time, the only sound that came from us were our footsteps. She isn't much for words, I think to myself. Then again neither am I. We continue to walk instep with each other.

Mia is the first to break the silence. "So, 'Guy', tell me about yourself." I shrug.

"Not much to tell. What you is what'chya get."

"There has to be something you'll share." I think for a moment.

"I like... carrots." I say and we burst out in laughter.

We take our seats at the feeding room tables. It was finally time for the second feeding. The food trays pop up from the table itself. It was the same for everyone - chicken, salad, peas and carrots.

"Hey, 'Guy', look. Carrots." She teased. She's really loosened up. We sat, ate, and talked for awhile in peace.

"Hey guys. Gretchen threw down her tray and sat across from us. I sensed Mia tense up. I hear Gretchen give a little "Hm", like she was pleased with herself.

"What you want." Mia snapped. Gretchen hesitated, as if she was taken aback.

"Who, me? Why nothing at all..." She said smugly.

"Leave now, Demon." I mutter quietly.

"I'm sorry, what was that, un-sighted? Did you just say something?" I smile evilly

"Who, me." I mocked her. "Why nothing at all..." I steeple my hands and her Mia giggle. Gretchen gets up in a huff and flees from the table.

"Okay, you are my officially my best friend." I chuckle.

"Why, thank you."

"So, Mia, tell me about yourself." I say to her as we sit in the craft.

"What do you want to know?"

"Anything." She seems to ponder for a minute.

"Well I live with my mother and my baby brother--"

"What about your father?" She goes quiet. "Mia?"

"I don't know. He left for his assigned work on day and didn't... come... back..." Her voice is filled with sorrow.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked." Mia sighs.

"No, don't worry about it. He probably just got assigned to a different family." Their ways are much different than our worlds'. "And then maybe he was transferred to a different part of the the quadrants." She added onto her thought.

"It must be..." I search for one of Their words. "Difficult... I..." I search again. "Believe."

"You keep pausing. Why?" She asks me. I run my fingers through my hair, debating if I should tell her or not.

"No reason, really. Just kind of spacing out." Mia chuckles.

"Well, it happens to the best of us!"

Whooo! That's it for this update! Hah! Sorry it took so long, it's really really REALLY hard to write in a blind persons point of veiw, and there was a lot of lack of inspiration - though listening to Du Hast really help (German rock is boss). I had to switch decices, so you'll notice some little differences. Sorry if anything is spelled wrong, my other device was the only one with auto correct. Tune in... whenever for the next update!
