"Come on, we'll be late!" A young boy's voice booms, echoing through the small space taken up by a large tree with an old swing, a small shed, and a dog pen. Another boy, appearing to be about the age of 16, swings his head around, wide eyed. "Already?" He asks in surprise, gathering his belongings in a hurry and apologizing to the penned creature for their departure. "Yes, Ash" The other speaks, his black-and-white hair blowing in the gentle breeze. "I'm coming, I'm coming" Ash says with annoyance, his usual red sweater moving around on his shoulders largely as he walks up to his companion. "Are we flying or trekking?" The boy asks, turning to Ash with his obsidian dragon necklace in his hands. Ash turns to meet his eyes, pondering for a moment. "We can fly. Let the girls stretch out their wings, hm?" He smiles, settling his satchel onto his shoulder and shaking his messy brown hair out of his eyes. "But are you sure it's okay, Śeek? Will they be in danger..?" Ash continues, babbling on with worry filling his tone, only to be cut off by a hug and a kiss on the forehead from Śeek. "It'll be fine. It helps when they're the size of a moose, while humans are..human sized" He shrugs, smiling reassuringly, earning a sigh from Ash. Śeek grips his obsidian necklace in his hands, dropping it on the ground and shattering it, causing shadows to erupt from it. He backs away, watching flatly as if he'd seen it a thousand times before. The shadow shaped to be a large figure, roughly the size of a huge male moose, a calf sized one beside it. When the shadows faded, two large, black, slick-skinned dragons stood there, one eye green and the other gray. Śeek greeted the larger with a pat on the head, earning a satisfied purr from the beast. (stop) "Ready for a journey, Ko?" He peeped, looking up to the tall creature, who bellowed in response. "Alright," Śeek sighed, pulling at the dragon's saddle and tossing his leg over, followed by the other as he mounted it. Ash stumbled behind him, grabbing at Śeek's glove covered hands and clumsily sitting behind him. Ko adjusted to their weight quickly, used to it, and stood from her crouching position. Her height was quite amazing, standing almost as tall as the ancient oak tree that the small wooden swing hung down from. The dragon spread her wings, her child following in her footsteps and spreading her own, and took off into the sky. Śeek laughed joyfully as they soared through the clouds, his goggles strapped onto his face and his hair flying violently in the wind. The dragon shot up vertically, wind catching in her wings and bringing them to a momentary halt. She returns to behind horizontal, their speed now a smooth glide. Śeek sighs, moving around in the giant, flat saddle and laying down, the goggles now around his neck. Ash moves as well, settling beside Śeek and cuddling up to him, falling asleep with the older boy following closely.
Wham
Śeek bolted upright at the force, his eyes wide. Ko looked around in panic, loosing altitude and eventually spiraling towards the ground at a dangerous rate. "Woah..Ko! Calm down" Śeek hissed, crawling up to grab one of the dragon's many 'horns' and pulling it gently, making her slow down and glide gently to the forest floor. "Damn.." The boy swears quietly, standing and dismounting from the dragon. His eye glows, making him gasp in realization. "Where's Iko?.." He stutters, his gaze darting around the forest in worry. A loud bellow erupts from a part further in the forest, sounding frightened. "Great. Now we have a missing baby dragon.." Śeek looks around once again
before Ash speaks up, uttering the words they both hate the most. "We're lost"
