I could feel the heartbeat in my ears as I slowly walked towards a seat. I was actually doing this wasn't I? It was so frightening but exciting. My fingers tapped against my leg as I tried to calm myself down. It wasn't that big of a deal was it? Are you bloody joking Leah? Of course it's a big deal. This is like the biggest step in my life, it's life changing. I've been waiting for this my whole life and now that it's happening, I'm scared out of my mind. What if this all goes wrong? What if I want to go home and never come back? My heart rate increased each minute closer to the time. This was happening. This was really happening.

These words were all that were going through my head. Nothing different, just second thoughts and anxious thoughts. I'm so scared. But this is what I want. I need this. I can't turn back now. The apartments already bought so is the meeting for the manager, there was no way I could change my mind now.

Flight QL3149 your plane is now ready to board

It's now or never Leah.

Once the lady at the intercom finished saying what she needed to, I got up, grabbed my carry on luggage and walked toward the lady who would scan my ticket.

"Hello welcome to Qantas Airlines, how are you?" An air hostess said.

"I'm well thanks, yourself?" I asked. My Australian accent coming out thick

"I'm good thanks," She replied while scanning my ticket.

As she scanned my ticket, there was a little beeping sound and then she handed it back to me and I walked towards the staircase.

The stairs lead down to two open doors. Once you got down onto the last step, you could see the plane, and once I saw it, my heart leaped. This was real. I walked quickly towards the staircase that lead upwards towards the plane. As I reached the stairs, I took one last look at the airport that I wouldn't be coming back to for a long time.

I was leaving all of the memories of the Sunshine Coast behind, and I'm going to start making new ones. I was leaving my all too familiar beach to an new one right in front of my brand new apartment.

This was real.

I walked up the staircase and towards my seat. Lucky for me, my mum upgraded my seats to first class so I could actually have a chance of sleeping on the plane. It is like a 12 hour flight after all. Once I reached my seat, 3b, I put my bag on the floor in front of me and sat down. No one was sitting next to me yet which I didn't find that surprising seeing that I was one of the first people on the plane. So I sat and grabbed one of the magazines that were in front of me and I just read for a bit.

It was probably only a few minutes that had past when someone sat next me. It was a guy, around probably 24 years old, like me, he was dark skinned, maybe hispanic and he had a tattoo of two bands around his left upper arm. He was pretty good looking, but not exactly my type. When he made eye contact with me, I just smiled and he smiled back. Okay so he's friendly.

I'm currently hoping that he isn't one of those annoying people who snores when they sleep or just makes really weird noises in general, because if he did I might have to consider jumping off this plane.

Once he moved his hand forward, it knocked me out of my train of thought.

"Hi I'm Posey, Tyler Posey," He said, moving his hand out to shake mine.

I put my hand out and shook his while saying "Did you just James Bond me Tyler?" He laughed a bit and it made me smile. "I'm Emmeret, Leah Emmeret," I said, completely copying off him, just to try and make him laugh, which it did.

Tyler and I chatted for a little bit, talking about random things, but once the intercom went off saying that the plane was about to leave, I put on my seat belt and braced myself.

"Okay, don't judge but I've never been on a plane before," I said, trying my hardest not to show that I was freaking out.

"Well I can be your plane buddy if you'd like, I'll make sure you stay safe," He said, turning his voice into a superman voice near the end. I laughed in reply and nodded. Maybe this flight wouldn't be so bad after all.

When the plane started to move, I honestly nearly screamed. Seriously I must be pretty stupid, I'm moving to L.A but I've never been on a plane before. No wonder mum wanted me to have nice seats. I started to breathe a lot quicker and I couldn't calm myself down.

I felt Tyler place his hand on mine in an encouraging way and I slowly calmed down.

"Don't worry, the bad part is only the beginning and then the rest is fine," He said reassuringly. I just nodded and turned a bit to focus on him. "So why are you heading to L.A Leah?" He asked clearly trying to get my mind off the plane.

"It's a very long story if you don't mind me dumping everything on you," I said. He nodded and I prepared myself for the big story. "Well, I'm actually moving to L.A, because it's always been like a big dream of mine. And well, why I'm going there? Ugh, I dated this guy who was sort of big in Australia, and he was abusive, and I stayed with him for a while, because I didn't know any better. But then, he really badly hurt me saying it was one of him 'games' and I ended up in the hospital and because he was big in Australia it was literally everywhere, on every magazine and tv show you could think of and it was going to stay that way for a long time so I needed to get away and stay away,"

I felt so bad for just piling all of this stuff on him, but I sort of felt like I could trust him already. But still, it was stupid of me to automatically go balls deep on him.

"Woah," He said, and I smiled a bit, because people didn't really respond with that. It was usually, 'i'm so sorry.' Like no you're not just stop. "I'm not going to press further on that topic because I can see that it's hard to talk about,"

"Thank you," I said, being mega thankful for him being understanding. "So what about you Tyler Posey, why are you going to L.A?" I asked.

"Well, actually, I live there and I was just coming here for a holiday but now I'm heading back," He said.

"Ohh cool," I said.

I didn't even realise it but we had taken off and we were in the sky. He completely distracted me from the plane when I started talking about my abusive boyfriend, Eric.

Tyler and I talked for a while until I ended up falling asleep.

I didn't really dream much which was weird. I oftenly dreamt about random shit in my past that made me freak out but for once I dreamt of nothing. I only woke up once someone, I'm guessing Tyler, started poking and shaking me.

"Leaaahhhhh, food is here, wake up," He said in a soothing voice.

Literally as soon as he said the word food I was awake. I don't how long I was asleep for but I was absolutely starving. Once I came back to my senses I realised that food was already on the fold out table. It was a little roast lamb with some steamed vegetables. I also noticed a can of root beer on the table.

"Did you get me root beer?" I asked Tyler.

"Yeaahh," He replied.

"Damn I love root beer," I said back to him.

He laughed and said, "My best friend loves root beer and you seem a lot like him so I got you some and hoped for the best."

We sat and ate our food and all I could think about was how this was actually happening. This was real.
