It was excactly 7:30 am in the morning when the school bus entered the street. My throat went dry by realizing it's the way to another awful day in school. I lost interest in school really early. I know, most of kids do it in the 4th grade or so, but I already did in the 2nd grade. It was the year when my best friend left school and at the same time the town. It just got really boring since then and I can't find anything good about it.
However my sister Alison loved school. When she saw the bus, her eyes sparkled and she began to breathe faster with ever inch it came nearer. If I was her, I'd probably liked school too. You can say Alison was that famous kid at school. She had a lot of friends and her grades were very well also. Probably because she has some guys doing her homework and writing her Cheat Sheets.
Sometimes I actually think that I'm adopted. I'm totally different from all my siblings. I'm shy and unobtrusively, but I'm fine with that. I don't want any attention in anyway from the people I don't even know like Alison gets it. I have my 2 best friends and thats enough to me. Their names are John and Kylie. I've known John since I was a really little child. Our parents went to the same school and also stayed friends when they ended school. So we became good friends early too. I remember when my father woke me very early when I was about 3 years old in summer. He didn't tell me why and where we would go, but he took me to his birthday. It was weird, they probably just really wanted us to be friends.
And Kylie... Well I met Kylie just a few year ago went she just moved here. Before she came, some people at school told around her father worked at a manufacturing and her mother also. It's normal and not a bad job. But our village is very cloistered and no one really wanted her and her family here. I don't want to sound like a racist, but they are black and I sometimes think most in this village never heard of the American Revolution. However, I didn't liked her at first too. Peer pressure. But then Mrs. Clancy divided me to show her around. I realized she isn't that bad. She's the opposite, I have to say she's the nicest person I've ever met. And we got best friends, together with John. He fastly realized that she's very nice too.
The other kids are excluding us since this happened. They just can't change their minds. It's so poor, I wish I could just show them. But I'm not god, happily.
When I tried to go on the bus, Alison grabbed me by my shoulder: "Tell mom and dad I'll come a bit later today when you come home."
"B-but why?" I inquired.
"Greg will take me to the next big town, I'll probably come about 10 pm. I just want to come out here for a few hours..." she said whil playing with her hair. She did that everytime she talked about Greg. I don't even really know if they're a couple, she never really said that but it hardly looks like. If they really are, I hope they will break up soon. I hate him, he used to call me brace face when I had braces. How silly, right? I mean just imagine they will marry someday, he'd be my brother-in-law! That'd be horrible!
"Okay, but a few hours? Do you know the next big town is about 100 miles away? It'll take you 3 hours to go there..."
"Why? Maybe about 1 hour but not 3!" she explained.
"Yeah, but even I know how Greg drives. And you can't, sweety?" I said and faked a sad face to show how moved I'm by that fact.
"Hey! Girls! Come in, we want to reach school before today ends!" Ryan, the bus driver shouted out the bus. Alison went in first and flounced over to her friends. That means, she tried. Before she arrived there Ryan started the big bus. Alison fell across the floor but stood up quickly and gave everyone a destructive look to stop us from laughing at her. I couldn't hold back my little giggle.
"Shut up little girl! You'll get your revenge." she said to me and said down in the middle of her friends who were sitting in the back.
I let myself fall next to John and Kylie. I looked at them asking when I realized they stared at me like someone just died. "Uhm... Morning?" I said and moved my hands to a little wave.
