"(n)"

You heard a familiar voice calling your name. All you could see was a bright light that hurt your eyes, and someone's shadow standing against it.

"(n)"

You squinted your eyes to get a better view of who was standing there. The figure looked like Jeff.

"I love you,(n)"

"I love you too Jeff."

You stretched out your arm to reach for him. He reached out for you too but for some reason the distance between you only widened.

His shadow seemed to move farther and farther away from you and you run towards him. Oddly, your running felt so painfully slow and Jeff was so far.

"Wait, Jeff!"

Your tried to run as fast as you could but that still didn't seem fast enough to reach him. Why did your movements feel so slow? Everything else seemed so slow.... except for Jeff disappearing.

"Don't leave me, Jeff..."

Your eyes shot open and you found yourself lying under a dark blue sky. A few sun rays infiltrated the darkness signifying it was already dawn.

Every little inch of your body hurt and you didn't want to move. Your heart was pounding so hard, you were afraid it would burst anytime and your brain was throbbing in your head.

It felt as if someone had tortured you and taken away your memory. There was something liquid-like on your forehead and you slowly moved your arm to reach for it.

You were sure your bones had broken but you could move your arm nevertheless. Did your broken bones heal up immediately too?

Your fingers gently touched the liquid on your forehead and you realized it was blood. Did you break your skull too? If so, how were you still alive?

Your fingers trailed farther on your head but you were unable to find any wound or scar. Of course, what else could you expect from that supernatural body of yours.

Still lying down, you tried to look around. You weren't familiar with this place but you were right beside that lake near your hometown.

That's right... you and Jeff fell into the lake the other night. Or was it last night? You completely lost your track of time.

And where was Jeff? You turned your head into the other direction and saw him lying right there beside you. A great rock of relief left your heart. You were so glad he was here with you.

Although largely pained, you got up and crawled up to him. His lidless dark eyes were open as always and stared up to the deep dark blue sky.

"Jeff."

He didn't respond. Was he unconscious? Your fingers intertwined with his and they were ice cold. Hopefully he didn't catch a cold. Your hands touched his forehead to see if he had any fever but they were just as cold as his hands.

There too was blood on his forehead. His wound looked very bad. You took off your (shirt, tank top, jacket, blouse, sweatshirt) and wrapped it around his injured head.

Anxiety began to grow in you. You lowered your head unto his face to listen if he was breathing. You lingered for several seconds and your heart sunk into your stomach as you didn't hear anything.

You opened his mouth, placing your lips on his, softly pinching his nostrils close and began to breathe hardly into it. After a couple times of breathing you withdrew your lips and listened if he started to breathe again.
