Lari woke to the Suns rays spilling over her cocooned body.
"Bom Mañá Jshulia," Lari murmured to the hand maid in her room.
"Morning your grace, shall I fetch you coffee?" She greeted alert and excited to be serving the famous crown princess.
"I wouldn't mind that, gracias," Lari said. Jshulia nodded, curtsied and left hurriedly.
When the maid came back with the coffee Lárima was more presentable, she had sat up and smoothed her hair down. She held out her hands for the cup the maid had prepared.
"Milk mya'caritú?" (Another title in Danlica)
"Yes, no sugar though," Lárima confirmed.
"Chi," Jshulia responded, getting the pitcher of milk from a tray.
"How was your day yesterday?" Lárima asked Jshulia.
Jshulia looked up startled and almost spilled the milk over her clothes.
"Uh–um fine your grace," she answered timidly.
"Oh relax. I won't bite. Unlike the other royals of this castle," Lari said under her breath.
Jshulia giggled and her tensed shoulders relaxed a bit.
"Come, sit by me," Lárima said.
"With all due respect your grace, 'Tis not proper for me to be sitting in front of a royal, at least here in Suliná, mya'caritú," Jshulia responded softly.
"Nonsense doesn't it matter what I want? Your purpose is to serve me, no?" Lari argued.
The maid sat down a little hesitantly at the edge of her bed. She then handed Lari her coffee.
"Are you going to ask me about my day?" Lari asked.
"Um, uh... Yes. How was your day your grace?" Jshulia asked after getting an eyebrow raised by the queen to be.
"None of this your grace stuff, call me Lari. It's what everyone at home used to call me. You know before I became a princess next in line for the throne."
"Yes, you're— I mean Lari. But if I may put in- this is not wise. You need to seem untouchable and above me, mya'caritú," Jshulia protested.
"Jshulia enough, I need an ally here in the castle. My ladies are all great for gossiping and such, but they don't know the castle well and it's politics. I need a friend, someone to confide in. Maybe also a spy. Servants are rarely noticed because they are considered furniture, no offense Lia, I'm going to call you that by the way, anyways that is what is going to happen. You will be my ally and friend and maybe occasionally spy for me inside the castle, can you do that?" Lari asked with more of a ruler's air than before.
"Yes your grace. I'm still going to call you by your title to leave less suspicion in our wake," she said with more confidence.
"Fine then. Thanks for the coffee. You should get back to work. Tell me all the gossip with my coffee next time. "
With that Jahulia the servant left without a word.
