Azure is crying in pain
An angel fell with tattered wings
She flew too close to the sun again
The sky is full of broken things
Wishing for a softer place to land
Anywhere but this forsaken land
It's not the fall that kills you, darling
It's not the fall that kills you
It's what you feel inside
From others trying to hard to hide
Knowing she broke the angel unmoved
Now she's treated like one of the damned
For falling in sin
And giving a human her heart
They flayed her skin
Her brothers took her wings...
Young, she was young once
A thousand years ago
And a thousand miles away
Before giving her heart to a dying race
Now left with tattered wings in decay
She too will die like a stray
