"Hey!" A girl with long blonde hair and a light pink head band said smiling. "You must be Alexandra! Im Kristal with a K and an I!" I thought her mouth would fall off with her smiling so wide and I immediately looked her up and down.
She was wearing a light pink and purple diagonally striped shirt, bright pink pants and light pink and white dotted flats. Her skin looked like it had never touched the sun although it had a bright glow to it.
"H-hey...." I stuttered.
She held out her hand but didn't wait for me to shake it and walked inside.
"Oh I see you chose your side already. No biggie I'm fine being by the door!" She smiled a bit wider, something that I thought was impossible for her to do. "Oh were you heading out? And if so where? I was thinking of going to a party after i was done unpacking but we could go now together if you'd like!" She continued smiling.
"Uhhhh... actually i was heading to my friends dorm room..." I said looking at the ground my face getting a bit warm.
"Oh..." Her smile dimmed a bit but soon became bright again, "Thats ok we have the rest of the year to do things together, I mean we are roommates after all!"
I nodded and walked out the door, heading towards Marian's dorm.
"Do you think she's a psychopath? Or maybe she's like one of those people who act really nice at first but end up being some sort of serial killer or something!" Marian said between or more like during her bites of pizza.
We were both sitting on her bed side by side and I had just finished telling her about my encounter with Kaitlyn and she was already starting to come up with crazy theories. She always did whenever one of her best friends met someone new.
I laughed, "Do psychopaths wear pink?"
"Well maybe its just part of her disguise or to throw you off!" She said.
I rolled my eyes. "Ok now I know your just making things up."
"Am not!" She wined crossing her arms.
"Oh stop acting like a baby!" I threw a pillow at her.
She laughed and threw the pillow back at me. It hit me smack in the face and I got up and grabbed the pillow.
"Oh you shouldn't have done that..." I smirked and she quickly got up as well and grabbed another pillow.
"Oh ya? And why not?" She said, laughing.
I threw the pillow at her hard and she blocked it with her pillow.
"Is that all you've got!" She smirked and through her pillow a me.
I caught it and she frowned while I just shrugged. We started a full blown pillow fight and by the time we finished we were on on the ground laughing and out of breath.
"...I..havent...had... that much... fun in...forever!" I said in between breaths.
"I..know...right!" She replied.
We laughed and got up. Marian collapsed onto the bed.
"Well, what n-" She didn't get to finish her sentence because at that moment someone turned the door nob and walked inside.
"Oh, hey, Xander." Marian said not looking too happy.
Xander just nodded and put his hands in his pockets.
"Is Janette here?" He said looking around.
"No, I think she left to one of her friends parties." She replied not looking directly at him like it would kill her if she did.
He nodded again and left.
"He was... nice." I said.
She snorted and hit me with a pillow.
"He's always like that."
"Wait, he comes in here often?" I said, shocked.
She nodded glumly, "Him and Janette are like, best friends or something."
She put a hand through her hair and untangled a few knots as she did.
"Well, I better go, its getting late." I said looking out the window.
"Aww, man!" She winked. "The party was just starting."
I rolled my eyes, got up and stretched.
"Well, I'm out." I winked, saluted her then headed out the door. "See ya."
"Bai." She said.
As I made my way back to my dorm I saw Xander standing in the hallway looking down at his phone.
"Oh, no." I mumbled under my breath.
I quickly made my way past and almost made it away when...
"Hey, do you know were dorm 389 is?" He asked.
I bit my lip and stopped walking. Then I turned around and forced a smile.
"Dorm what?" I said taking a step closer.
"Dorm 389." He shook his hair out of his face.
He took a few steps closer until we were only a foot or two apart and handed me a piece of paper that read:
Dorm 389; Zane.
I flinched as I read the name and gritted my teeth. I cleared my throat and forced my teeth apart.
"Its 2 floors above this one, I think, its probably somewhere on the right side." I spat out the words like there were poison on my tongue.
I backed away and walked to my dorm.
"Thanks." he said quietly and I heard him run up the nearby stairs.
When I finally got to my dorm I collapsed on my bed and reached for my phone. Instead I felt a fuzzy, box-shaped object and I immediately shot up from the bed.
"What the...?" I said as I looked at the bright pink box on my desk.
I peered at it and I cautiously grabbed it as if it might fall in pieces if I didn't. Curious to seeing what was inside, I slowly opened it and saw a small light pink paper that read: "To: Alexandra. From: Kristal."
Inside was also something wrapped in soft, white paper and I quickly tore it off revealing a silver necklace with a heart pendant. I looked it over and i realized that the heart pendant could be opened. Inside was carved the words "Best Friend Forever" I laughed and shook my head.
"That Kristal is really something." I said to myself, smiling.
It felt really good to have a friend other than just Melanie. I mean, don't get me wrong, Melanie is a great friend but I kinda wished I could hang out with someone else sometimes. I sighed, put the box and necklace in my top drawer and i got under the covers.
"College is going to be great! Highschool was just a small obstacle i had to bypass before living my happy ever after." I whispered to my self and I closed my eyes. "Im finally going to be really happy."
