I locked my car door and walked up the porch.
I went to open the door.
The door was unlocked?.
'That's strange'.
I looked around outside for a moment and then noticed the window was shattered.
I was so confused.
After seeing all the glass laying on the grass under the window ledge I walked through the door.
The furniture was all moved around and nocked over.
'Did someone break in?'.
I walked outside again and dialled 911 in my phone.
'Police, fire department, or ambulance?' A woman spoke coming from the other line.
'Police' I replied.
'What's your emergency?' The woman asked again.
'I just came home from school and the window was shattered and everything was moved around.' I answered.
'Where is the emergency?.'
'My house, 257 maple st.'
'And I just need your name'. She asked her final question.
'Tori, Tori Shield'. I said sternly.
The woman told me to stay on the line and stay away from the scene, so I did as told.
About 10 minutes later i could hear car sirens.
The police men started coming out of their cars and into the house.
I checked my phone for the time and noticed it was already 5:37pm.
'Where is mom?' I mumbled.
I tried sending her a message.

To mom;
Hey, where are you?
5:39pm

'Huh?' I spoke under my breath.
I tried calling her.

[no answer]

' God damn it mom!'.

After an hour of waiting outside I saw the police men carrying a familiar person on a stretcher not breathing.
'Mom!?' Tears streamed down my face.
They carried her into the ambulance that had come while I was waiting.
'MOM NOOOOO!'
'THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!!'
I fell to the ground on my hands and knees sobbing.
.
.
.
It was a long ride to wherever I was being taken.
'You will be taken to he shelter' the male who was driving the vehicle spoke.
'it would be illegal for us to just let you live by yourself in your house since your not eighteen' the woman added on,
As we arrived I could see two little children running and playing around with a stuffed bear.
I walked closer to the door and almost got run over by the screaming kids.
'Tori!' A familiar male voice called.
'This is the shelters caretaker'.
She grinned.
Something didn't feel right about her.
She kind of freaked me out.
'Nice meeting you young child She said still grinning.
'Make your self feel at home. She also spoke while turning away.
She left through one of the doors and entered another room.
I looked around the now empty hallway.
'I better just use to this.' I muttered.
