Chapter 4: Selene Kingston

My curse did not go unnoticed by the gym, everyone seemed to freeze and look gobsmacked at me. I don't think they thought I had it in me to curse or even talk for that matter. All they knew about me was my fighting skills and that if you wanted a match, I wouldn't let up until you tapped out.

I just didn't think she'd be here, of all places. I mean-- yeah, she has the natural fighter look-- but I would not of thought she'd come here. She looked more like a person who'd train and fight on her own, maybe even causing some fights to pump up some ego.
She looked pale and just as surprised as I was. Which, I thought was amusing in a way since she's a wolf. You have no idea how surprised I was to find a Were in the school, this school. If she's a Were and is in this school, that means there will be more. A lot more. I come to this school to get away from Weres and other supernatural beings, and yet-- here they are, living and breathing. I could never catch a break.

Joe stutters through the silence. "Wh-what is it?"

I shake my head and wave her up. This will be interesting."Okay, right now, I'm just going to measure your skill level. Okay?" I sized her up, trying to get a gauge on what her abilities are and how far her skills go.
Juliette hops up, dancing on her toes and shaking out her muscles. Making a big show out of it. I knew instantly that her ego was appearing because I could see her wolf making herself known. Her nose would flare every-so-often, telling me that her wolf was processing my alpha blood. Being the alpha she is, they could never pass up a challenge, never accept and loss. My scent was pumping her up, because in a way-- I was challenging her as an alpha. And being an alpha, you have to withhold all that you're worth. Which can cause a narrow mind, cracks in your defense, lazy movements, and lastly-- impulsive anger and loss.

Her wolf felt that her title as an alpha was being threatened. It wasn't but a grown, Alpha she-wolf is nothing to underestimate. They were dangerous when they needed to be. That's what made the female gender dangerous when gathered in group. Sure, a lot of arguing and drama will come along, but if you threaten the one you're threatening, it's a whole other tale. Someone was going to give, not in the good way.

Getting in position, I give her a nod to begin. The first strike was instantaneous, no hesitation, she didn't even take the time to analyze her opponent. Hmm... I dodged it easily but make no move to strike back, I want to tire her before I get her more angry.
Which seemed to take forever, have you ever heard of an alpha Werewolf tiring? That's right, rarely-- if ever will it happen easily.

Isabella was born to fight. She showed no sign of getting tired and her anger only seemed to become bigger and bigger the more I didn't fight back. Finally giving her what she wants, I thrust a fist into the air between us and everything froze and slowed impossibly down. My outstretched fist was sailing through the air about to hit her in the face until she ducked last second and sweeping her leg toward my ankles. Jumping to avoid contact, I kick both legs to her chest sending both in opposite directions. I needed her to give me space, that'll be her downfall when she has no room to maneuver. Yes, the point was to make the opponent have no room to move but you want to be able to knock them out cold.

I need to teach her a lesson before I consider working with her. Hopefully, she'll take this as punishment because she was in the wrong. No way in hell, you can not let your wolf get the best of you. Right now, that is exactly what she's letting her wolf do.

D'Avila showed no sign of being stunned or hurt as she pushes off the springy ground. I did the same, giving her a small smirk to piss her off more than she already is. I could see clearly now that her wolf has taken over, her stormy grey-- almost black eyes-- glare back at me in a no-nonsense way. Pissed. Her wolf was fully in control.
