We need to run, like right now!

Opening up our eyes to the real world

It was 9 am and Caitlin had a good night sleep, but she kept having these recurrent dreams where she was happy and had a family with the man that once broke her ice walls and got her to fall in love with him, yet from one moment to another the dream changed and turned into a nightmare when she saw this creature; a very aggressive and vicious creature that craved for something that wasn't clear what it was in the dream. The next thing she thought she saw was some sort of two different color blurs, another tragic thing was out of nowhere she had no more family and her mysterious love was dead because of her.

Her dream ended in that image, of her and her lover in an unknown place badly injured with emotional scars.

Sometimes she would think they are real and she would feel sad and alone.

But today wasn't one of those days, she knew that her efforts at her work had finally paid off and she was sure that she would have a promotion by the end of the day.

After she finished changing her clothes and locking her apartment's door behing her, she head out to Jitters were she had breakfast on regular basis.

Knowing that nothing could spoil this day, she walked with ease to her place of work which is Mercury Labs, when a person she had seen in her dreams suddenly appeared walking right in front of her, apparently he was waiting for her stumble across him to make her see the awful truth.

"Excuse me miss cam i talk to you for a moment?" the mysterious guy asked her, startling her because she didn't knew that he was following her.

"Of course, how can i help you m..." her words were cut short because she recognised the man but didn't do anything bout it.

"We need to talk, now." he didn't let her answer as he took her hand without her consent and moved away at inhuman speeds.

"What are you?" she was flabbergasted at his recent move

"Wake up now, i need to show you something"

"What? I am wide awake, and why for you want me to do that?"

"Just listen to me and do as I say"

"What i still don't understand what's happening"

"You leave me no choice, see you in a couple of hours" he applied a some sort of modified adrenaline to wake her up and she did, well at least not instantaneously.

4 days later, October 5th 2018, Central City:

"Where am i?" Caitlin asked to the air because no one replied her question.

Until someone did. "You are in Central City, the year is 2018, my name is Bartholomew Allen and you have just woken up or at least we've both woken up from a cryogenic sleep, your name is Caitlin Natalie Snow, you majored in physics and genetics"

"How do you know all of that?"

"Because Caitlin, you and i, come a long way of knowing each other"

"How? I don't even know you"

"You will remember in due time, but for now please follow me. And if you are wondering why you are so pale and look like a vampire, its because they have given you those abilities to defend against the things out there"

After a few minutes of walking down and up the empty corridors, with him often humming a rhythm that she soon got the hang of it and really liked, they got all the way towards the roof where there was the sky just how she remembers it, only this one was dark and there were no buildings around just people running and walking around without a course.

"What the frack has happened to Central City?" she was dumbfounded as she could not believe her eyes, she turned to the mysterious man in a red suit and he gave her a reassuring smile that everything would be fine.
