When my brother said 'meet me by the stage in half an hour' I thought he meant that Tim McGraw was going to preform. But when I found I was the only one standing by the stage I was confused until Jacee explained it to me.

"We just needed a place to meet by. Matt wants you to participate in the horse race with him. Race him. Tim McGraw doesn't go on till dark." She said rubbing her pregnant belly.

"I've never ridden a horse. I refuse to. Especially after your trickery." I said folding my arms.

"C'mon Jane. Ride a pony or something I wanna race you." My brother said begging.

"How about I ride on the back?" I said hoping that'd be a good compromise.

"Now, what kind of brother sister rivalry is that?" A new voice chimed in. I turned to see it was one of my brothers friends, Ryan.

"See Jane, Ryan thinks you should race." My brother said clearly thinking it'd win him this argument.

"I don't care what Ryan thinks! I'm not getting on one if those blasted beasts!" I said folding my arms.

I actually thought horses were cute. But not riding them trying to win a stupid race at a country fair. That my friend, made them evil beasts in my opinion.

"How about this," a familiar country twang said from behind me.

"Who are you?" Jacee asked an evil glint in her hazel eyes and a smirk the size of Wyoming on her face.

"I'm Drake, a friend Janey here-"

"Jane." I interrupted to correct him.

"That's what I said," he said looking at me. "Anyways I'm a friend Janey made while she won these heart warming fur toys." He said holding up the stuffed horses and bulls I won. Including my Jimmy. "So in a compromise, gosh darn I love compromises, Janey can ride on the back of my horse. If I win, she'll get her toys, if you win," he said nodding to my brother, "you get the toys and use them for whatever you want. Sound like a deal?"

The evil country turd was putting my Jimmy on the line! How dare he!

"Deal." My brother said shaking Drake's free hand.

"Wait-" I started to protest.

"Now you pretty soon to be momma hold these here toys," Drake said handing Jacee MY stuffed animals, "and you Miss Sass come with me." He said grabbing my arm leading me to the horses.

"Wait! I've never ridden a horse! In front or on back! I don't even know you! You put my stuffed animals on the line with no reason! My brother will shoot then with his shotgun!" I said panicking.

"Do you think he'd let me join?" Drake asked. I slapped his shoulder only to get a laugh out of him. "And you do know me. Remember? I helped you win that big bull."

"I do remember. But they're my stuffed animals! I won them!"

"Oh you mean the ones you forgot?" He bantered.

"Drake! I'm going to cry!" I said.

"Oh little lady don't cry. Then I'd cry and I'd crash this here horse and lose the race. Not only leaving your precious toys to your brother but causing serious injury to the both of us." He said laughing. Before I could yell at him about country guys being gentlemen, I saw 'this here horse' that we were going to ride.

It. Was. Huge.

"Uh, D-Drake?" I asked stuttering.

"Yes?" He said putting a saddle on the beast.
