Louis's POV
Well this was great. Management sent me two tickets for the new Harry Potter movie. At first I was excited, until I was told I had to take El. I loved El, but just as a friend. She and I would be cuddled up on the sofa for our "date night" we would talk about real life things. When I came out to her she was less than surprised. The part she was surprised about was the fact that I hadn't told the boys. Keeping my sexuality inside was difficult. Harry strutting out of his room naked, Niall in a loose white tank top, Zayn showing off his many new tattooes, and Liam's after-workout glow didn't make hiding it any easier.
I was used to Harry's nude habits, and Niall and Zayn were often dressed comfortably around the house; but Liam's workouts made my head spin. I hated it, and I couldn't even tell him. He was straight, and nothing I said was going to change that. But seeing him hunkered over the fridge looking for a Powerade after a weight-lifting workout make his back muscles flex and relax. They made me want to rub every inch of his back. His abs made me even worse. I once had to leave the room while a movie was playing because he walked in shirtless in ninety-five degree weather. I didn't know how to control my feelings around him, and I hated not having control.
We had a free day that day, and in the middle of breakfast, Niall and Harry announced that they would be at the movies all afternoon. I was kind of glad. Harry and Niall liked to be really cuddly around each other, which only made me want to be cuddly. But I couldn't be cuddly. Not with the boys, no matter what. So I'd be responsible for Liam and Zayn that afternoon. Zayn would probably be in his room for most of the day, so Liam and I might get some quality time.
Liam's POV
"Looks like it's just you, me, and Zayn today, Li," Louis said with his mouth full of honey coated oatmeal.
My heart thumped in my chest at his words, "Yep. What do you wanna do?"
"Maybe we could do that random selection thing on Netflix and watch different movies all day?" he suggested.
I could only picture cuddling with him on the sofa while a movie was playing. Only I wouldn't want to be watching the movie.
"Or maybe," he paused, "we could get sloppy drunk and tell each other our darkest secrets."
I spewed out the orange juice I'd sipped into my mouth. Niall, who was now coated with the fluid, groaned, "Now I have to take another shower! Thanks alot Liam!" He stomped off to the bathroom upstairs. Harry rolled his eyes at the dramatic exit.
"There's a bottle of tequila in the liquor cabinet. But we have vodka, rum, and beer, too," Harry patteed me on the back before bounding up the stairs and out of sight. Everything suddenly felt really awkward. That's when my phone went off.
"Hello?" I spoke into the reciever. "Why do you need me to come in today?" I asked. Management had scheduled a meeting with me in less than an hour. "I'm bringing Lou with me."
"What do they want?" Louis asked once I hung up.
I shook my head, "I have no clue."
We drove to the office where I was to meet management. Simon was sitting in a big leather chair behind his mahoghany desk. He clicked a pen on his notepad and greeted us. "Hello Liam, Louis. I'm glad you could make it in today."
"Why did I get called in here?" I asked.
Simon cleared his throat, "Liam, we've discovered something about you that we don't particularly want to reach newstands. We don't want to change you, but we need to maintain a certain image. Liam, we've been digging for a while, suspicious on why you've never been in a real relationship with a girl since you were fourteen. Finding these messages between you and Harry only confirmed our suspicions." I gulped and looked at the printed out messages between me and Harry.
"How did you find these?" I asked, my mouth gone completely dry.
Louis looked confused. I couldn't believe management found this. Harry and I were so careful with where we talked about these things. Luckily, they didn't seem to have the ones about Louis. I pushed the papers over to him and watched his eyes scan the words. His blue eyes met mine in a flash, and I'd never seen them so wide.
Louis's POV
Liam was gay. His chocolate brown eyes were filled with fear and shame before he buried his face in his hands and massaged his temples. I desperately wanted to tell him I was gay, too, but I couldn't, not in front of management.
"Why is this important?" Liam's strangled voice asked from inside his palms.
"Because we can't let this information get to the press. If we can find it, so can they," Simon replied.
"And what exactly are you planning on doing to 'fix' this 'problem'? Give me a magic pill to make me like girls?" his anger was prevalent. His hands were fisted by his sides and the veins in his arms stuck out.
I was in shock. Liam Payne was gay. He was gay, just like me. I felt terrible that I had to find out this way, but my head was spinning. I might actually have a chance with him!
Zayn's POV
I heard two car doors slam and stomping footsteps up the front steps. "Liam, wait!" Louis's voice travelled into the house. The door next to my room, Liam's room, was slammed shut and locked. I stuck my head out in the hallway to find Lou sitting at the top of the stairs with his head against the wall. "Li?" he turned around.
"No, it's me. What's wrong with Liam?" I asked.
Louis sighed, "Management called him down there to introduce him to his new girlfriend."
"What? What new girlfriend? Why would Simon assign him a girlfriend?" I asked, totally confused.
His breath was let out slowly, like he was afraid to say it himself, "Liam's gay, and s-so am I."
