Kathryn: Baby was nibbling at my toes as I sat, my head in my hands, trying to think of a new song. I didn't have any ideas. All I needed was the lyrics for my Lyrasist class. This was even the free draw assignment. But, yet I couldn't think of anything.
Harry: The studio was a place of piece. A place of which no one yelled at each other. Today, we were in the studio. Jess sat, headphones on, listening to the beat she was working on. The guys were going over the lyrics for the tenth time today. Niki was sitting in the corner, playing with two barbie dolls.
"Got it," Jess whispered. Zayn got up from his seat and walked over to her.
"What's it sounding like?" he whispered in her ear.
"Listen," she said, pulling her headphones from the jack and plugging in the speakers. A flood of sound came through. I bobbed my head to the beat.
"Ooh," Niki said, "I like that, mommy!" Then she went back to her dolls. She was calm for a two year old. Of course, she toured with us, so she everything we did she did (except for the late night parties). Maybe that had something to do with it.
"Yeah, lets roll with it," Zayn said, kissing her on the cheeks. Jess smiled and got to work hooking up mics and headphones.
Kathryn: I hummed as I walked over to the fridge to grab a snack. "Hey," I said, smiling. I like that.
Harry: I now was behind the mic, singing the song. It was calm, but yet worked for a party. Leave it to Jess to turn a serious break up song into something that could be our next big hit. I sang with all the soul I had, making sure it matched with the sheet on the stand. Jess was nodding biting her lip as she adjusted things one at a time. I saw Zayn say something on the other side of the glass, but I couldn't hear it. Louis seemed to be playing some game on his phone, and Liam was watching Jess's screen intently. The software Jess used would slowly produce a waveform as we recorded, making it kind of fun to watch. I continued to sing, ignoring all of it. That was how it was when I sang, a zone of pure singing. My soul was laced in the song I was singing. I loved it.
Kathryn: I started my song. Maybe I won't be the best song writer, but at least I'll pass this class.
