The mistake

Prologue

All her life she has been told she was a mistake that she wasn't meant to be here.Her parents would beat her if she did wrong and make her keep quiet.She wonders why she feels this way...why whenever she wakes up in the morning she feels empty like she is just taking up space in the world.Why she walks like a zombie looking amongst the people.... no feelings just thoughts on how her life couldn't get any worse.It's hard for her to say that she even has the slightest happiness in her life.Her sisters say she is far beyond ugly to even have someone to love her and yet day by day she sits there in her room wondering why she was put here to face this misery.

She is an artist, someone who sees the world through different eyes.Who takes her anger her frustration out through writing.Writing to her heart's content.Life to her was just something she had to endure as if it couldn't go as quickly as it came.She would write about how her life was full of shame and how her parents hate her and how her life seemed so small to others.She would rant and rant until she couldn't write anymore and she would turn to the blade that would make her feel alright."Just something to relieve my suffering" she would tell herself every time.Yet more and more appear on her arm as if after the third cut she just went numb and felt nothing.Nothing but the hollow shell of herself.

No one to stop her or to say no just her and herself alone in a room that has no color just the white bare walls that came with it. So why doesn't she take her life? Because underneath the emptyness she feels there is light.Small enough to not see but big enough to break the surface and get free.Her parents don't care for her and or what she does.They feel as though they had her out of shame of there mistakes.And who is this girl you ask?

Her name is Emily.

Emily the girl who sits within the walls of a mental hospital.The one who remembers everything of her past.....

The one who shames herself.
