Chapter 2 - First Day

Dear Diary,
This morning I woke up to
"Hannah wake up, Hannah come on!" This was my mum nagging me out of bed. I jumped in the shower and got my school bag ready. I curled my hair so it was really nice for my first day. And then I got dressed, the best part of all. At my old school I had a uniform but here at this American school, it's non- uniform everyday! I put on my black and white polka dot top and my black leather shorts that looks like a skirt. My outfit looked like an all in one! I put my favourite converse on, and a little bit of make up and then I was ready to go. I was excited at this point. Rebecca wasn't thrilled with the new school idea because she didn't mix great with new people. She was ready and she looked fabulous. I did her make up because I'm such a kind sister and then we made our way to the door to catch the bus. As I touched the door our mum ran in and screamed
"STOP!!" We were so surprised. Judging by her voice I thought someone was dead in our living room but it's just plain old mum wanting a photograph. We smiled for the photo and then was on the bus in no time.

On the bus, Rebecca was talking about what about would be like if cheese was extinct ( I know she's weird). It wasn't a school bus because we didn't know what time that bus ran or anything so it was just a public bus. It was sunny, it was good start to my day. I gazed out the window, admiring all the new streets and shops I had yet to get used to. According to mum and dad I have to get off at Main Grove High. I'm kind of excited as it sounds posh and welcoming.

Finally, we have arrived. A sense of fear rolled down my spine. I didn't know this school and what the expectations were. Me and Rebecca got off the bus and walked down the path leading to the school. It seemed like one of those American schools you see in films. I was so excited but then scared too. This could be my own high school musical! I can be Gabriella and have my own Troy! I was getting ahead of myself, I hadn't even walked thorough the gates yet. I will try to stay calm! I will try to stay calm.......

Walking through the gates, I saw all the students talking to the friends. A group of girls game up to me saying
"who are you?" And so I said
" I am Hannah I just moved here and I..." She then interrupted me by saying "OMG I love your hair, girl!" I was about to say thank you when she took Rebecca for her arm, linking, and walked away. That's when I realised she wasn't talking to me. So now I wasn't just completely lost I was also alone. Rebecca seemed happy with that group. They didn't look like the most popular group but they sure had style. So I was just walking along when I saw this girl, who looked the same age as me. I said with happy face
"Excuse me, do you know where I can find the principles office?" She glared at me for a second with the most awful look and then said
"why did you even come to this school! Your useless! And come on babe you need to learn how to dress!" With a huge smirk on her face she walked over to a group of her friends, who looked like one of the most popular groups. Her and her friends looked at me and laughed as I walked past. This made me feel horrible. I hadn't been here to seconds and people was already mocking me. I held back my tears and didn't say anything to the girls. There was six of them and only one of me. They looked like cheerleaders as I could see their uniform popping out their bags.
So now I had to find my own way to this office, as asking people hasn't got me anywhere.

Waking around, I cannot find the principals office. I think I've walked in a big circle because now I am back to where I started. I sat on the bench and wished that Rebecca came back when this girl who also looked my age said "are you lost?" She looked like a nice girl and I responded with
"yes, please could you help me find the principles office?" She looked at me and said
"Oh are you new?" I was so relieved I thought she was going to laugh at me. I happily replied
"yes. And I don't know where I am," I laughed a little and so did she.
" Well follow me I will give you a tour of the school, and you can chill with me and my friends if you'd like! And by they way I'm Lauren!" I quickly replied "yes that would be great! And I am Hannah!" I was so happy I finally found a nice friend. I nodded and she linked me and we walked around the school.
