Sometimes, Never Always

PART II

Baekhyun woke up on his bed. His head was still throbbing but not as bad as before he lost his consciousness. He took a glance at his bedside table and saw the time

3:00 AM

Baekhyun blinked several times to see if he was really seeing it properly. His throat suddenly felt dry. He was about to stand up when he saw a figure across his bed.

The figure was sitting on his tiny dining table, his head was slumped in the table and he looked cold in his white shirt and jeans. Baekhyun approached him with caution, taking light steps to avoid waking him up. He reached out for his hair when the figure suddenly moved and grabbed his arm.

"Chanyeol?"

Without further ado, Baekhyun was pulled in in a bone crushing hug. Chanyeol started sobbing as Baekhyun gently caressed his back. Chanyeol gripped Baekhyun as if he would vanish if he lets him go.

Baekhyun was being pushed back to his bed, but he didn't mind. Chanyeol's body was warm against Baekhyun and he tried to absorb some of it for himself, too. He embraced him back as if nothing else matters in the world.

Their bodies crashed on the bed. Their limbs were tangled to each other's and they stayed that way. Baekhyun could feel Chanyeol's beating heart, slow and rhythmic, which made his own mimic the beat.

Chanyeol's presence was enough to quench Baekhyun's thirst or fill his hunger.

"Don't ever leave" Baekhyun whispered in Chanyeol's chest and  looked up and tried to search his eyes. "I won't, if you don't let me" Chanyeol replied but Baekhyun was already fast asleep.

...

The alarm went off at 6 AM but Kyungsoo was already awake. He's been watching Baekhyun all night long.

Baekhyun woke up at the sound. He squinted his eyes as rays of light seeped through the tiny slits of the blinds. He rolled over to see the person he has woken up for.

He was no longer there.
