The light the stars emit is caused by the hydrogen gas it is continuously burning. However, stars are not forever. After they have used all the hydrogen material in their composition, the star would grow dimmer and die eventually.

It is known to us that their distance cannot be measured in centimetres, metres or even kilometres, but through light years.

Even today, the light that stars emit are still travelling.

Even after they're long gone.
