phillip's point of view

it was a snowy, cold day in manchester,  and i decided to walk across the street to the small, cozy coffee shop, just down from my apartment. as i walked through the glass door of the shop, i heard the little chimes of the bells, signalling the employees that a customer was here. i took a deep breath, and inhaled the smell of the different aromas of all the different types of hot drinks they served here. i wrapped my pale, cold arms around my torso to try and warm myself up, i had forgot to put on a jacket before i left, and i had a thin christmas jumper on over just a plain blue t-shirt. i walked up towards the counter, and waited in the short little line. as i waited in line, i tapped my foot lightly on the tiled floor, i pushed up my glasses that had started to fall off the bridge of my nose, i usually wear my contacts, but i just wasn't feeling like poking my eye this very morning. i walked up to the cash register, "a latte, please" i ordered "lacto-free?" the barista, dan, asked me. i nodded "any chance you guys have almond milk?" i asked, the boy shook his head "not yet, i apologize." i nodded, and payed for the drink. "i'll bring the drink to you, you can go sit down", "oh, no need for th-" i started, but was interrupted "go sit down." they boy asked, more like demanded. i just nodded and walked over to the usual seat i sit in, a small booth in the corner by a big window. the shop's employees usually don't bring the drinks to you, but this boy had insisted. i looked out the frosty window, waiting, until i heard a voice. "here you go," dan handed me my latte and sat down in the booth with me. he had probably caught on with my confused expression on my face and answered my question "it's my break" he smiled at me. i nodded and smiled back at him, wrapping my hands around the warm paper cup, warming up my cold, pale hands. i lifted up the steaming paper cup of to my chapped lips and took a small sip of the hot drink, after setting it down on the table, my eyes looking straight into the cup of warm liquid. "i'm dan, what's your name?" I heard the boy say. i looked up at him with my icy blue iris'. "phil," i replied and looked back down at the cup, a few strands of my raven hair falling over my eyes, i quickly swiped them away. "its nice to meet you dan," i informed him, still looking down at the paper cup, i then lifted it up again and took another sip. "you too. will you be here again tomorrow?" he asked, but it felt like he pleaded a bit more. i softly nodded my head, "i will.."
