As I drove down the woodsy road, I couldn't stop thinking about how humid it was out. My white button up was practically glued to my skin. I just needed to stop worrying about seeing Lo, that's why I was sweating so much, it had to be. I hadn't seen her in almost two months. She was at a stage in life where she could've blossomed into a completely different person in that short amount of time.
I could already feel her thin lips upon mine, as I parked the car. I decided to change into a thin shirt, before walking into the camp grounds.
There were children everywhere, boys and girls. They all smelled of sun block and had extreme tans. I looked around for the main office, and barely found it.
As I entered through the doors, I saw a grown man sitting in a chair, and two women doing paper work. "Hello, um, I'm here to... uh... take my daughter out," I stumbled.
"What's your daughter's name, hon?" One woman asked, opening a drawer that held the names of every camp goer.
"Loren Hazel," I said softly. It felt weird to call her Loren.
"Alright, just sit there and she'll be here in a few minutes," she sighed, picking up the phone.
"Actually, is there any way I could go get her? To surprise her?" I wondered. I just wanted to get the hell away from this place, as quick as possible.
"Yeah, sure, she's in Cabin Three," she huffed, setting the phone back on the hook.
"Thank you!" I called, as I practically ran from the building. The cabin wasn't too far and I could just make out Lo in the distance.
As I neared the cabin I could see her leaning against one of the posts, popping her bubble gum, and twirling her ponytail. She still hadn't spotted me, and I was shaking.
"Hey there old man!" She called, her sweet voice ringing in my ears. I couldn't even respond, I was so grateful to even be in her presence right now.
"Get your things packed, we're leaving," I said, as she came up to me and hugged me around the waist.
"Why so soon? Don't you wanna meet my friends?" She giggled, lingering around my hips.
"Sure," I sighed.
She called out everyone's name, and pointed to them. Olivia was a short Hispanic girl, with extremely long hair. Rosemary was a tall, well developed girl, who had the same hair color has Lo. Jackson was a boy, a disgusting, creepy boy. He stared at Lo with such lust in his eyes.
"Alright Lo, time to say goodbye. We need to get going," I demanded, as she tried to introduce me to even more dirty children.
"Okay, old man," she giggled, letting go of my hand.
She ran around and hugged all of her friends, but once she reached Jackson, she placed a small kiss on his cheek.
I was infuriated, how dare she?
"Come on Lo," I grunted, lifting her suit case.
It took about another thirty minutes, but I finally signed all the paperwork, which got her released.
As we reached the car, she already began to pull on my sleeve, like a kitten, begging for attention.
"What's wrong Niall?" She questioned, cocking her head to one side.
"Nothing Lo," I grunted, opening the back door, and sliding the heavy case into the car.
"Then why'd you come get me so early? Is everyone alright? Did Delores get hurt?"
"Everyone is fine Lo, I just wanted to take you on a trip," I lied. I had to lie, I couldn't simply tell her that her mother had died. It would crush the little girl's soul.
"A trip? Where are we going?" She inquired, sitting next to me in the front.
"Just around. We'll get to see amazing things my love," I whispered, a small smile playing on my lips. I turned the car on, and immediately pulled away from the camp.
We drove for another five minutes, maybe, before Loren jumped into my lap, and began to kiss my entire face.
"Lo! I can't see a damned thing! Are you mad?" I laughed, trying to move her head out of the way.
"I thought you liked when I did this stuff," she giggled, grinding her bottom half into my own.
"L-Lo, you've got to give me a warning before you start doing things like this," I said, trying to steady my breathing.
"Well there's you warning," she whispered into my ear, before leaving a small kiss to the top of it.
I took the car to the side of the road, and looked out the windows for any passing people.
As I tried to make sure we were safe, Lo was already pulling her shorts off. I knew she was waiting for this moment, just as I had been.
"Slow down Lo, or it'll hurt," I warned.
"I've been practicing on myself, it won't hurt anymore," she smirked.
"Oh trust me, I'll make it hurt."
