" You ready " I heard my mum call from downstairs '' Nearly mum " I said still packing the last of my stuff. You see today I'm moving to Melbourne,Australia... a world away from rainy London...I guess I was kind of excited, I might actually get a tan this summer, I thought to myself. On the other hand though, I would be moving to a new country with no friends, I hadn't even been there before so I had no idea how it would be.

Dad insisted it was best for all of us though. We we're only moving because he got offered a job which would pay better than his job in England.                                                                                               When I first found out I was really upset, my life was here in London and now everything had to change.. what if I didn't fit in.My thoughts were interrupted by my sister Sophie barging into my room telling me to hurry up because the taxi would be here to pick us up soon.

Sophie was a typical 15 year old girl with blonde hair and blue eyes and a Justin Bieber fanatic (true story.) Where as I was the complete opposite, I had long Brown hair and hazel colored eyes. People always made jokes about us not being related.
She was pretty excited about the move, again, the complete opposite to me.

I sighed slightly " I'll be down in a minute " looking round my room I took in the last memory I would have of my childhood bedroom. I walked over to the window looking down on the garden I used to play in when I was younger. I was going to miss my room but dad promised my room in Australia would be alot bigger.I guess that was one thing to look forward to.                                                              I zipped up my case and went downstairs, everyone was waiting for me by the front door. My dad glanced me a sympathetic look knowing this move would be hard on me.                                                   As we walked out the door I took in the last breath of the familiar smell of my house.

It was quite I a drive from my house to the airport so I put my earphones in and listened to abit of Ed Sheeran, his voice always seemed to calm me down. " Now,now give alittle time to me..we'll burn this out,we'll play hiiii "  Sophie nudged me and as she did I realized I was singing out loud..in a taxi.Ooops that was Awkward. I went back to my music flicking through my playlist until I came across ' Boom Boom by Justice Crew ' one of my favourite songs, that then took my mind elsewhere. That was one of the songs that was played at my surprise leaving party last saturday.

It hadn't really hit me that night that I'd be leaving a couple of days later, until the kids I'd known since pre-school started saying their goodbyes to me. Of course we promised to keep in touch and I would visit them in the holidays..but it wouldn't be the same, I couldn't just walk around to lucy's house whenever I felt like it. Lucy had been my best friend for years, I was going to miss her alot, I promised to call her when I got to my new home in Melbourne.

Once again my thought were interrupted when I saw a sign for the airport. " How long till we get there? "...I asked my mum. " Not long now, about 5 minutes " she said.                                                      Next thing I knew we had arriving outside terminal 5. We got our stuff out of the taxi and made our way to the Check-In counter. We soon found out that our flight was delayed by an hour, so to kill time me and Sophie went to get a drink from a little cafe and looked around the Duty Free shops.               Before we knew it we were boarding the plane. I of course sat on the window seat, my sister sat next to me, then my mum, then my dad. I knew it was going to be a long flight, I listened to music pretty much the whole way and towards the end of the flight I dropped off to sleep.
