Chapter4:
Beonka:
"Hey Lauren are you ok?" Beonka said
"No, my head is killing me and I feel really dizzy" she said with her head in her lap
"You should lie down."
Beonka slowly made her way over to Lauren and helped her to her feet. The two girls made their way to the back of the cold wet cell. She lied her head down on the cold ground and she slowly fell asleep.
"Kayla what's happening over there...is there any movement??"
"not yet" she said in a loud whisper. Beonka looked at her quickly then started to look for anything to open the lock. She remembered her dad had shown her how to pick a lock from inside a locked room-because her brother always locked her in her bedroom- she felt around in her messy hair and found three bobbie pins. She took then out and placed then on the floor beside Laurens head. She crawled over to Kayla and said "I can open this door"
"What do you mean your skinnier than me and you're gonna knock down the door off ha good luck sweetoms"
Beonka rolled her eyes as she bent down and grabbed the bobby pins from the floor
"I'm not going to knock the door down I'm going to pick the lock"
"Oh smart girl"
"Go wake up Lauren because we are leaving this place right now"
Kayla made her way over to Lauren and woke her up. Both girls made their way over to Beonka and stood there stunned that Beonka actually got the door open in the matter on seconds. The three girls made their way out the heavy gate door and helped all the other girls and boys out of the cells. There were too many to be taken some didn't even speak English! They walked over to a room full of light. In the room there were men all sleeping and two were watching TV but didn't notice 50 people staring and burning a hole through the back of their heads. Beonka motioned for everybody to keep moving and they did, a few seconds later everybody was outside except Beonka who saw a familiar face amongst the room of men.
"The electrician" she mumbled to her self
Kayla came running in and grabbed Beonka. She woke up from the trance and followed Kayla outside. The hot air hit her face and the humidity made her legs feel heavy as if there were 20lb on each leg. Everyone stared at Beonka, Lauren and Kayla with eyes asking or the next step. The three girls looked at each other and the silence led on. The birds were singing there lovely lullaby's and the bugs rested on the ground the sand gravel crunched under their feet as the all moved toward a pick-up truck.
"DAMN, how are we gonna start this thing?" someone said amongst the crowd of people
"let me." A boy with blond hair and blue eyes appeared and opened the door he bent down and started to take parts of the car off from underneath the steering wheel a few seconds later the car motor stared up and everyone started to cheer.
"whos going to drive?" he said with a big smile
"Beonka is going to she is the one who saved us all and she is now our mother" Kayla said as she stood staring at Beonka for guidance.
