About a month had passed and Narvel still hadn't met Rebas kids.
They were official
Narvel and Reba were just getting back from dinner and Narvel walked Reba up to the door hand in hand. "So this is my porch" she said stopping before they hit the door
"Beautiful house." He said looking around
She smiled and grabbed both his hands pulling his waist close to hers. "I'd invite you in but.., the kids and everything, it's crazy in there" she said the
"I understand." He said
She kissed him deeply for the first time.
He smiled and kissed her back
The lights started to flicker.
"Woo wee you can kiss." He smoked and giggled
They smiled and laughed and then Shelby came out.
"Do you two have an idea what time is it?" He said
"Shelby shut the door" she said
He closed the door
"I meant with you inside" she said
"I just don't think it's appropriate for you to be making out like a couple of French people." He said
"Shelby! In the house. Now." She said sternly and Sadie came out. "Mom I agree with Shelby. It's 11:30 and your making out on the front porch and we haven't even met the guy!" She said
She was mad at both of them but didn't want Narvel to see it. "Narvel these are my kids Shelby and Sadie." She said
They just stood there and looked at him. "No mom. We can't let him into our life's. We have been a three person family and I don't plan on changing that." Sadie spoke for them both
Narvel just looked down at his feet. He really wanted them to like him
Sadie looked at Reba she was fuming. "Glad to know we've been replaced." Sadie said and she walked inside and up to her room.
Shelby followed behind her. Reba looked at Narvel. "Don't take it personally. Their just not used to their Mama dating." She hugged him
He nodded. "I beg get going, see you at work tomorrow?" He asked kissing her softly
"See you then." She smiled
He left and Reba went inside. Sadie was up in her room crying and Shelby was in her room comforting her.
Reba walked into her room and pulled Sadie close
"Here we go again. Instead of work getting in the way, it's that man." Sadie said
"Baby no one is gonna replace you." She said
"Really because you snapped at me outside and you were fuming that we even interrupted. Sorry, we didn't know where the hell out mother was on a school and work night!" Sh sahd
"I didn't snap at you but your right I should introduced you guys sooner to him." She said
"Yeah a months ago would have been nice" she spat
"Honey I only started dating him a month ago." She said
"Exactly." She said
"I love you guys more then anything." She said
"We should get to bed" they said
Reba kissed both their kisses and held them close
The next few days were bumpy and Sadie hung low for a few days, spending every waking minute at her friends houses.
Reba went to pick her up
Sadie didn't want to go home
"Sadie." She said
"No." She said
"Yes." She said
"No." She said again
"Come on." She said
"I'm no going." She aid
"Yes you are." She said
"Why are you so mean! I wish my mother wasn't a freaking snotty super star!" She yelled at her
Reba was in shock and incredibly hurt
Sadie pushed past her and went to the car.
Reba got into the car
They didn't say anything the whole way home
Reba pulled into the driveway
Sadie got out fast and slammed her door.
Reba sighed and got out
Sadie sat on the from steps and pulled her legs to her knees.
Reba sat down next to her. "Please talk to me." Reba said
"Honestly?" She said
"Yes." She said
"I hate you. You are always working, rushing us out the door. You divorced my our father. You are never home except on your days off and on the mornings. You never help me with my home work and let's not forget the man that's taken your heart and pulling you farther away from us. Your all we have. We don't have a father to watch us. To take care of us while you go out. We're 16. Not the mother and the father of the damn house." She said
"Sweetheart no one is ever going to keep me always from you guys. You and your brother are two people I love most I this world and nothing is going to ever change that. Your father divorced me. I wanted to try and fix our marriage but he wanted no part in it." She sis s

"All you ever do is defend yourself. This is why I never talk to you." She said getting up.
Reba grabbed her hand. "Baby what do you want me to say." She said
She looked her in the eyes, it hurt that she didn't know. "Nothing." Her voice cracked and she ran inside
"Sadie!" Reba ran after her
Sadie looked at her. "I just wanted you to comfort me... To tell me it's all gonna be okay. And most importantly, tell me you loved me." She said
"Sweetheart come here." Reba pulled her close "I love you more then you could ever know." She said
Sadie broke down, she hadn't cried in almost 10 years.
Reba kissed her cheek "I love you." She said
"Can we go out as a family, the three of us to dinner tonight.... And I mean if you really want to... You can see if your boyfriend wants to come to." She looked down
"I think it's a great idea. Just the three of us." She said
She looked up. "Thank you" she hugged her
"I love you so much." She said
"I love you too" she said
Reba kissed her cheek
They all got ready and went out for pizza
They all had a great time
They were All eating when a man came over. "Wow, you guys all came out to dinner but didn't invite me?" Narvel said
"Oh hey!" Reba said
Sadie looked down. She cleared her throat and moved out from beside her mother. "Excuse me" she said and walked to the girls room.
"Let me go talk to her." She said
"No stay with me" Narvel said
"Honey I need to go talk to her. Get to know Shelby." She said
"No I'm just gonna head out." He said pinging to the door
"I'll call you later." She said
He gave a weak smile hoping she wanted him to stay. "Yeah" he said and started walking away.
"It's not that I don't want you to stay because i do, but this is the first night we haven't been fighting for a while. The kids need me tonight." She said
You could see the hurt in his eyes. "I'll see you around Reba. Tell Sadie I'm sorry I ruined your perfect night out without me." He said and continued to walk.
"Narvel please." She said abs went to Sadie
He just shook his head no.
"Sadie?" Reba said
"Is he gone?" She sniffles
"Yes." She said
She nodded and they walked out Narvel had come back in but he was with his mother, he helped her in and kept glancing at Rebas table but kept his attention on his mother.
Reba and her kids didn't know that he was there. "Mama?" Sadie said
"Yeah?" She said
"I know this might be hard to believe but I actually like him. Its just hard getting used to you dating but I like him." She said
They heard a scoff and a familiar laugh from across the way.
They looked at each other confused
Narvel was right there. "You never have liked me. You don't have to lie." He said
"Your right I didn't like you. But you make her happy. The happiest I have seen her In a long time and that makes me happy." She defended
"See. You don't like me. Reba this is what I was talking about! Come on mom... We have to go" he said
"Narvel stop. I do like you. Both Shelby and I do. I wouldn't be saying it if it weren't true." She said
He helped his mom stand up. "Mom this was the woman I love and her kids." He said
"Wait loves?" Reba smiled and grabbed his hand
Sadie leaned back into Shelby. "I like him" Sadie smiled. Narvel looked at Reba. "Yes.... Reba I love you with all my heart." He said running his thumb over her boney nuckles
Knuckles*
"I love you too." She smiled
Sadie smiled and Narvel helped Reba stand up and Sadie and Shelby made room for Gloria his mother for her to sit.
"Hi I'm Sadie." She smiled at Gloria
"Gloria" she smiled
"Nice to meet you." She smiled
"They always like this in public?" She asked
"What do you mean?" Reba asked
"Nothing" Gloria lied smiling
"The whole lovey dovey thing? Yeah pretty much." Sadie whispered
"Everywhere? Oh dear lord! And you kids stand for that?!" She chuckled
Sadie giggled and
"So would you like to spend the night at my place tonight?" Narvel asked
Reba looked at her kids for permission. "Go." Sadie whispered
Sadie looked at Shelby. "Looks like we're walking" she said
"No no no. I have to pack a bag. I'll drive you home." She sad

"Can I invite grandma Over tonight?" She asked
"If that's okay with her." She nodded
Little did Reba know that Sadie and her long term boy friend broke up that night and she was having a really bad migraine and stomachaches.
"Baby you feeling okay?" Reba smed
Asked
"Yeah... Just have a stomach pain." She lied but managed to smile softly
"Do you want me to stay home tonight?" Reba asked
"No I'm fine" she said
"Okay sweetheart." She said
Sadie leaned back and closed her eyes.
"Hey why don't he just go back to your place? I know she needs her mama." Narvel grabbed Reba's hand and whispers in her ear
"I can hear you, mama go. I'm fine" she said with her eyes closed
"Sweetheart I know you don't feel good." She said
"I'll be fine mommy, I just need to sleep it off" she said
"Okay." Reba said
"Can you take me home though?" She asked
"Of course." She said
She got up and stumbled a little.
"I'm staying home with you tonight. We can have a movie night." She said
"No I'm fine mama. Narvel can you carry me out to the car?" She asked softly as she held onto the table for support
"yep." He carried her bridal style
She weighed nothing, Reba put on her coat and hat and glasses so no one would recognize her on her way out to the car.
"Mama." Shelby said
"Yes?" She said
"I know she says that she wanted you to go but she doesn't look good." He said
"I know, narvels gonna come over and we'll just have a movie night as a family. It will be nice" she said
"Sounds good." He said
She smiled and they went home
Sadie curled into Reba on the couch
Reba rubbed her back and Narvel walked in and sat down right next to Reba and pulled her close.
"Hi." She smiled
"Hey beautiful" he smiled
The next day was Rebas day at the CMAS
Sadie was feeling much better
Reba was in her room getting ready
Sadie knocked on her door
"Come in" she said, Narvel had stayed the night
"Hi mama." Sadie said sitting down on the bed
"Morning" she smiled
"I feel a lot better:" she told her
"Well that's good!" She smiled
"Yeah." She nodded
Reba felt Narvel wrap his arms around her waist.
"Morning." She smiled leaning into him
"Morning, are you ready to go down the red carpet?" She said
"Yep! Are you?" She asked
"I can't wait to walk down with you" he smile
She smiled and kissed him
They got ready the whole family and Reba showed up with everyone on the red carpet
"How many awards are you nominated for?" Shelby asked
"Non bud, I'm presenting the entertainer of the year award and performing with your uncles." She smiled
"Oh okay." He nodded
Narvel got her door and she stepped out onto the red carpet with her beautiful dress.
She grabbed his hand and the kids followed behind them
Reba smiled and they took pictures together on the Red carpet. At the end they had a reporter.... No one knew Reba Mcentire had a boyfriend!
Reba was excited to announce that she has a boyfriend
"Hello Ms. Reba, how are you to night?" The report asked, it was live tv
"I'm great!" She smiled
"And who is this?" She asked
"This is Narvel Blackstock. My manager and boyfriend." She smiled
"Boyfriend?" They asked
"Yes boyfriend." She smiled
"Not a baby daddy that your hiding from us?" She said
She giggled. "Nope no babies." She said
"Well we will let you go, have a good night" they said
"Thanks." She waved and smiled
They went and got there seats
Sadie sat next to Reba
So did Narvel, they were holding hands.
They were cameras everywhere
Reba looked at Narvel. "Do you think this dress is too revealing?" She asked
"I think it's perfect." He kissed her cheek
She blushed and smiled
"I love you." He said
"I love when you say that" she smiled holding his hand tighter
"I love too say it to the one I love the most." He smiled
She looked at him and laid her head on his shoulder. "You make me so happy when I'm with you, my heart aches to be with you when I'm not" she said
"Aww baby." He smiled and kissed her head
She looked at him. "I'm so tempted to kiss you right now but we're on television" she said
"Who cares." He kissed her deeply
She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back deeply, straightening her back. Sadie and Shelby giggled, they were up on the big screen.
Reba smiled super big. She was so in love
Narvel smiled and pointed at the screen. "Well now everyone knows that Ms. Mcentire has a boyfriend" he smiled
"Finally! Now I can kiss you anytime I want." She kissed
He chuckled and kissed her head and the show began.
They held hands during the entire show
Reba looked at Narvel. "It's my turn" she kissed him softly and left
He smiled and watched
Reba went and got changed
She was wearing her skin tight leather pants and her blue sparkly shirt
She looked hot!
He was smiling as he watched her do her thing
She was so great at her job
Shelby and Sadie were so proud to be her kids
She finished and changed into her dress.
She looked absolutely amazing
She came out and smiled big
She got a standing Ovation from the crowd
She was so stunned and happy! She couldn't believe it.
"Aww y'all are so sweet!" She smiled
They were all standing and singing along and swaying clapping there hands
She sang her heart out
Narvel smiled as she was with brooks and Dunn
They sang and the show ended
Reba was exhausted
They all waited for her in her dressing room
Reba came out in her comfortable clothes. "Why don't we all go to cancun tomorrow?" She said
"Awesome!" Sadie smiled
"Uh... I can't" Narvel said
"Why?" She asked
"I have to work" she said
"Oh yeah." She said sadly
He kissed her head.
She hugged him
"I love you, and you call me okay?" He said
"I love you too. I I'll call you everyday." She said
He smiled and left
They all went home
They packed bags and went to bed
The next morning
Reba missed Narvel, she had started her period that morning and wanted Narvel to be with her. She trudged down the stairs.
"Morning mama." Sadie smirked
She broke down, crying out of nowhere
"Mama what's wrong?" She asked
"I miss Narvel." She sniffles going to the fridge
Sadie hugged her tight
She cried. "I miss him holding me and wrapping his arms around my waist, now I'm gone for a week and I won't see him" she started to whimpered
Sadie got the idea to call him and see what she can do about that
Reba sat at the island and stared at his picture
Sadie called him
"Blackstock" he said
"Hey Narvel it's Sadie." She said
"Hey Sadie, what's up?" He asked
"It's my mom." She said
"What's wrong with her?!" He became concerned
"She's crying and staring at your picture because she wants you to come to Cancun with us." She said
He sighed. "I can't" he sighed
"I know but can you try? She's miserable." She said
"I'm in training." He said. "I can't just up and leave because my girlfriend needs me." He said
"I know." She said
"Tell her I'll call later" he said
"I will." She said
He hung up
Sadie walked back to her mother
She was crying
"Come here." Sadie pulled her close and held her tight
"I just want him" she cried
"I'm know mom." She said
She whimpered and sniffles
"I love you." She said
"Love you" she said
She kissed her cheek
The door opened and slammed shut
They looked at each other confused
Narvel ran in. "I'm here! He said
"Hi baby!" She ran to him and kissed him
"Sadie called and I felt so bad so I packed a bag and I'm going with you" he said
"Really?!" She smiled buf
"Yup" he said pulling her close
"That's amazing! Thank you so baby girl." She smiled at Sadie
"Your welcome" she smiled and Narvel looked at Reba. "I have some surprises set up for you" he said
She smiled and kissed him
He kissed her and picked her up
She giggled
He held her butt and her hair fell on his head as she put her forehead on his.
"I love you." She smiled
"I love you, your so hot" he smiled
She giggled and blushes
They got to cancun
Reba and Narvel didn't leave each other's sights
Reba fell asleep on Narvel
He held her close and tight
She started to lightly snore
He kissed her cheek
She woke up and looked up at him. "Hi" she said tiredly
"Hey." He said
She curled into him and felt something in his pocket
"What's in you pocket?" She asked
"A box" he said
Her eyes went big and she looked at him
"To soon?" He said
She smiled and shook her head no
He nodded and kissed her head
"I love you." He said
