My boots pounded on the tile floor. I felt the lights shine on my face. I took a deep breath. I was about to join the rebellion. I had to do it in secret, or I would be executed.

The year was 2097. Video games had been banned. Everything is supposed to be electronic now right? Wrong. There's no electricity in most houses, other than in the rich sections of cities.

Us runners have to play video games in secret now, spread the word of the rebellion, try to get electricity back up and running. There's no reason not to.

Without electricity, the world feels silent. Our only music is from ourselves, other than from ourselves and from the jumbotrons on the square. I can't stand silence.

The light shone on my face as I stood in front of a giant black screen. "State your name." I heard echoed across the room. I took a deep breath, "Victoria Ross."

I heard flipping of pages. "You great great grandmother was a pro gamer. Elizabeth Ross. Am I correct?"

"Yes."

"Well Victoria Ross, welcome to the rebellion."
