Dean and Blake's Apartment - 10:32am (Las Vegas, NV)
"So, he told you he loved you," Frankie said slowly.
It had been six days since that night in Cincinnati and still, I felt conflicted. The following day, I flew out to California to spend the holidays with my family and friends, feeling as if something - or someone rather - was missing.
On the morning of the 29th I made the flight back to Vegas with Frankie, Sage and Alex since they wanted to finally see the apartment.
It was supposed to be fun, but so far it was therapy hour.
"Did you say it back?"
I shook my head, "I didn't get the chance - I mean, not that I would've, I just...there was no need for it."
Sage raised an eyebrow, "So you don't love him?"
"You know you do." Alex interrupted as he was examining the bookshelf. "War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. Yours or his?"
"His."
"Marry him."
"Okay, you know what, you guys are singing an entirely different tune," I laughed. "Especially since you were all for this just as much as I was!"
"Well somewhere between him assisting in getting revenge for me and playing a part in one of the greatest days of my life, I've decided to go easy on the kid." Frankie smirked and I frowned at her, "Don't give me that look. I march to the beating of your drum. It seems like within the past few months, he's ended up on your good side and anyone that's a friend of yours is a friend of mine."
I groaned and buried my face in my hands. It was frustrating. All of it was frustrating. Thankfully, my best friend was there to rub my back in circles and whisper,
"I know you're confused, babe, but if you're having a change of heart that's fine. It happens to the best of us."
I lifted my head to look over at her sympathetic expression. "This is the same guy that tortured me for nearly a fucking year, made me spend a night in jail and a month in an asylum."
"Don't even think about the beginning of it," Alex said as he plopped on the couch across from me with the book and some beer, "it sucked anyways!"
"You guys really wouldn't judge me if I went either way?" I asked and Frankie smirked,
"Babe, wherever you go, we're with you, I swear to you."
"Yeah, same for me." Sage walked over, sat and hugged me with her head on my shoulder.
"Same here." Alex chipped in and I smirked,
"Thanks."
"So, when is he supposed to touch down?" Frankie asked and I sighed then looked at the clock.
"About 30 minutes ago and we live about forty from the airport soooo any minute he can be here."
Secretly, I was anxiously waiting for him to come home. I felt like I would go insane from not seeing him for so long.
"Maybe we should get going then," Frankie stood. "You too might need uh, some reuniting time. And also, have to find Sage a dress for the New Year's thing."
"I'm not going." She grumbled and I pulled her in for a hug, while Frankie rolled her eyes.
"What is it about now? Running from Randy? Running from Seth?"
"Both of them." She replied. "I want nothing to do with either and you know why."
We did. She finally told us what happened in Vegas with Rollins. How they had sex, she didn't remember and he was being a douche about it. I owed him one hell of an ass kicking.
