Miku's POV
_________
Miku sprang from her seat and darted out the auditorium. She didn't stop until she got to the nurse's office. She burst through the door and found her brother on a bed. He was covered in a white sheet but his bare legs were poking out. Miku walked over to the bed hesitantly and uncovered the sheet with shaking hands. She wiped the sweat off her face with her other hand. Mikuo's face was still and his eyes were closed. Miku reached her hands out and touched his face. It was very cold. Tears started to well up in her eyes and she wiped them with the back of her hands. She bent down and kissed Mikuo's forehead. She turned around and ran out of the school to the tree house. The tree house was a place that she and Luka had built as little kids. They would always hang out there together. Miku was sure that Luka would come looking for her here. She climbed the wooden ladder connected to the bottom of the tree house. There was a small table with a lamp and some books on the right side of the window and a mini refrigerator to the right of the window. There were also art supplies scattered on the floor. Miku went to the window and sat on the window sill. She sighed and looked out at the endless trees behind the tree house.
Luka's POV
_________
Luka saw Miku run out of the auditorium. The message about Mikuo's death was very shocking and sad. She felt really bad for Miku. Luki too would be terribly sad since he had always liked Mikuo as a great friend but Mikuo had never liked him back. She guessed that Miku was heading to the nurse's office and decided to leave her alone for a little while. After about five minutes Luka saw Miku dash out of the school . She knew were Miku would go. The tree house. Luka stood up and followed Miku out. When she reached the tree house she climbed up the ladder and stepped inside. She spotted Miku sitting on the window sill crying.
Miku's POV
_________
Miku didn't realize when Luka waked into the tree house. A warm hand touched her shoulders and she turned around. It was Luka. Luka sat down next to her on the window sill and they gazed at the trees. Luka turned to Miku. Her eyes shone with sympathy and warmth. Miku smiled sadly.
"I know how you feel." Luka said. "After all I've lost my mom." Miku remembered how terribly sad Luka had been when her mom had died. She couldn't bear the thought of losing her own. She closed her eyes and let the tears come.
"I will miss him terribly!" Miku said as she hugged Luka.
