Female No More

One simple wordstamped on every document
I.
Ever.
Owned.
Female.

Who knew a simple word,
with letters inked by cosmic dust,
in a universe created by chance,
who knew that word would be the enemy.

From the time of my birth
every moment was a constant lie. The pink clothes that were picked out for me.

The gender roles that came with every action.

It's a life painted in lies and I refuse,
I refuse to live with hatred coating my heart.
I refuse to be unhappy.

Breaking free and becoming me is something true,
the purest thing I've ever done.

So maybe,
just maybe I can live with myself,
maybe I wont wish for death before the world sees my colors.

I'm going to start being more active again, and I know this poem isn't my best but it was really difficult to write due to how personal it is.

I'll probably post again in about a week (I have better poems up my sleeve don't you worry). Love ya'll, it means so much that you read my work.
