broken key: chapter 3

Natsu's pov
I step off the train sniffed the air trying to pin point that one smell that made my blood race. I could smell new ink from newspaper, burning coal from the train, even the smell of leather from luggage. I sniffed once more over looking all other scents, looking for that one special scent of cherry's, fresh parchment, and writing ink. There it was, I followed the sent out of the train station to a hotel that was three blocks from the library. I made my way to the front deck "excuse me miss, I'm looking for someone" I said in a urgent tone that got the women's attention. "I hope I can be of assistance, what's your friends name" she said politely. "Oh lucy heartfillia" I said with a smile as the flipped thought some papers. "Uh- yes your friend is staying here, but she when to dinner I believe" I said once again. "Do you know which way she went" I asked her a little more excited then expected because she tensed a little. Once she recover from my excitement she replied "she was heading towards the town square". I yelled thanks as I ran out the door.
I made it to the square in no time stopping in the square to try to pick up Lucy's scent. I lifted my face to the sky as I breathed in catching her scent immediately. I open my eyes to see the dark sky full stars not realizing how late it really was. I followed Lucy's scent for only five Steps and hear very feminine voice scream my name. In that moment I knew exactly who was screaming my name, and instinct took over I took off in a run. I felt anger bubbling up in me at the site in front of me they had my lucy pinned. I lost it, I grabbed the man pinning lucy and pulled him off of her throwing him over my shoulder. I picked her up and set her on a near by bench. I turned back to the group of men I through my fist in ones face then grabbed his arm and twisted it. I heard his screams but I didn't care I tossed him into his partner that was trying to stand. I turned my attention to the final man and said "if you ever come near my lucy again I will not show any mercy, now get the hell out of my sight". Two of the men ran away as quickly they could get to their feet.

Lucy's pov
"You have alot of nerve kid" said the the remaining thug with a grin across the face. I closed eyes and listened for the sound the flesh meeting flesh. Which didn't take long I opened my eyes at the sound of natsu's voice. "You have a lot to learn if you think you can get away with touching my luce" said Natsu his voice low and threatening.
'That's the second time he's said my while referring to me' I thought to myself. I looked back at the fight my eyes glued to Natsu. He was winning this fight and he had yet to us his fire. Although, that didn't matter much because Natsu was putting all his straight behind ever kick, and punch. Nastu got his leg to the man's left side of his waist knocking him off balance. However he countered back with a good left hook to Natsu's rib cage. Natsu grabbed a hold of his arm flip them over onto his back and said "are you done". When he didn't respond Natsu made his way to me and smile his toothy grin "come on luce, let's go to the hotel" he said reaching for my hand. I looked at him hard then placed my hand in his letting him pull me to my feet. I followed after him slowly hoping he wouldn't notice my blushing cheeks hidden by my hair. I lifted my head as we came to a stop, I was meet with Natsu looking at me over his shoulder "what room are you in" he said. I could see he wanted to ask something else held it in so I replied softly "153 its on the second floor last room on the right" pulling my head down. We walked thought the doors of the the hotel Natsu released my hand letting me lead the way. I did lead by the time we made it to the room I had place my hand on the wrist Natsu had in his hand on previously. I pulled my key out and opened the door letting Natsu in then followed him in shutting the door behind me. Natsu turned to face me the moment the door to was shut.
He grabbed both of my upper arms closed his eyes and rested his forehead against mine letting out a sigh. "Thank Mavis I got to you in time" he said opening his eyes to look at my very red face. "What on earth were you thinking getting drunk" his tone laced with concern to my surprise. "I'm sorry I was so frustrated I just got little drunk to take the eage off" I said tears skidding down my cheeks. I felt Natsu pull me to the bed making me sit down as he knelt in front of me. "I'm sorry for losing my temper when I found out about Aquarius" he said burying his head in my chest. I found myself lacing my fingers thought the his hair "why is it I can't stay mad at you" I said to myself not thinking about his dragon like hearing. He tended at my words which made me blush when he looked at me. "Lucy, I spoke with erza before I left and she said somethings that made me think real hard on our relationship" he said looking away slyly. "I'll be honest I did notice it but I ignored it, I feared it was all a part of my imagination" he spoke again. Natsu looked at me determined to get his words across " before you, I have never formed a team with anyone other than happy for more than one mission" he said. "I have never had such a drive to keep someone safe until I met you," he paused "I feel this abnormal pull around you that makes me want to be physically touching you most of the time, no matter how small touch maybe" he stopped taking a breath.
I smiled at him placing my forehead against his " it's funny really you make me nervous when your two close, but I want you to come closer". A blast at the forward mess up the common I just made pulling back roughly only to have him stop me by grabbing my arms. "Like this" he said leaning in closer "yes" I squeaked. "I love you Lucy so please don't leave my side again" said Natsu softly I could only nod my head at this statement and as if on cue I leaned in planting a soft kiss on his lips. A little shocked at my own actions I pulled back only to be pressed completely into the bed with Natsu lips hot on mine. In that moment I lost all reason I wanted nothing more than to hold him close to breathe in that smell of ash. The hot skin of his hands made my skin burn everywhere he touched my cheek stomach upper arm even my fingertips. If we don't stop now we may not be able to my to be honest I'm not sure I want it to stop. Natsu pulled away breathless "sorry" he said his hot breath on my cheek "will you come back to fairy tail with me"
"Yes but you have to promise me one thing" I paused giving him a moment to nod his reply "promise me that when we get back we'll finish this". He gave me a cheeky grin "oh is that all we could just finish it now" he said a light blush touching his cheeks "plus if we don't do it now I'm sure that we'll never get the chance at home people have a tendency of breaking into your house" he added with chuckle. "Who are we telling first" I asked a little nervous "we don't have to tell anyone I'm sure erza's told the whole guild" he replied. "All we have to do is walk in the guild holding hands I'm sure they'll catch on" he laughed happily. I took this opening to push him onto his back straddle his waist leaning it to kiss him. I stopped moving when a groan escaped his lips I recover fast and pressed my lips to his. I pulled back "I love you Natsu dragneel" I said breathlessly.
I'm going to stop here for now, I'm so happy that you are all enjoying this fanfiction. I'm also sorry that its taken so long to update but I do have two children and a husband to keep up after. I believe I'm going to write one or two more chapters. Please let me know it you see any spelling or grammatical errors.
