"Here you go." Kenny smiled. Walking back into the room with two steaming hot mugs I merely smiled appreciatively and took one from him.

"Thanks Kenny." I thanked. Kenny nodding and raising his hand up as if to say no problem I smiled all the more.

"Anytime. Now spill. How exactly in the world did you get here, and where's Jerome?" Kenny demanded.

The curious burn I've always known ran rampid in Kenny's eyes. Flickering, needing to know anything and everything.

The serious expression was intimidating, yet the smile made it look welcome. Like when you get in trouble and your favourite parent asks you what happened.

Sighing a little I stared directly at Kenny. Before setting my mug aside and telling Kenny everything that happened from top to bottom.

Leaving out the parts about Matt's death, Vikk's coma and basically anything major that would make him flip and centred it around Jerome and I since everyone knew we were dating.

Kenny nodding and staring at me intensely he smiled at some parts that he founded idiotic or cute. Either or, he smiled the whole time.

After done ranting for a good twenty minutes of explaining. Kenny thought for a little while before speaking up once more.

"So I don't quite get it yet, you ran away?" Kenny wondered. Smiling at the rebellious act I just chuckled a little. Tapping my fingernails on the mug.

"Yeah, I guess that's right. It was more like escaping if you ask me, Jerome was babying me.... Wouldn't let me come back here." I muttered.

Rolling my eyes Kenny was in the middle of taking a sip of hot chocolate but choked. Spitting some of it on his shirt he merely wiped it off quickly before staring at me in awe.

"He what?!?" Kenny squeaked. Kenny's voice tightening in on himself I watched as his eyes grew as wide as dinner plates and nearly dropped his mug.

"Exactly! See! Someone finally has the same reaction as me. Usually people are all like,

'Oh Mitch, don't worry! He's only trying to protect you!'

Yeah.... Protect me from what? My friends?" I scoffed. Angrily grasping my hot mug I lifted it to my lips and I took another sip.

Smiling at the chocolate taste that entered my lips I stared at the hot chocolate in my mug, counting all the little marshmallows as Kenny pondered thoughtfully.

"Hmm, that really is something. What I think is that Jerome's afraid you'll go toxic too." Kenny advised. Staring at Kenny for a second I merely blinked cluelessly.

"Toxic?" I questioned. Raising an eyebrow I felt my expression fall into a blank one. What did toxic mean? Like, poison?

"Depressed. It's hard to be happy and smiling when everyone around you is sad. It's kinda like monkey do monkey see, except with death and emptiness."

"Ahh." I smiled. Nodding my head finally understanding what Kenny was trying to saw he only smiled back and took a sip of his hot chocolate.

The comforting silence swirled around delicately. Making me smile as I took another sip of my hot chocolate. It was nice of Kenny to invite me in.

I wish I could repay him, but I practically ran away with nothing but clothes and a few twenties to pay for the plane ticket.

"Do you need a place to stay?" Kenny wondered. Staring me in the eye with a twinge of worry I felt guilt stab my chest.

"I would love to but I don't want to bother you." I shook my head. Staring down at my mug awkwardly I peeked upwards to see Kenny staring at me unamused.

"If you have nowhere to go. You're staying here. Don't worry, we're used to company."

"We're?" I asked. Nearly choking on my hot chocolate I felt my stomach tighten.

"Oh yeah! You weren't here. Duh, sorry for my stupidity, Choco and I live together. That and one other person, but he left this morning so I don't know if he's coming back.

He did leave his stuff though, so I'm pretty sure he'll sneak through the window." Kenny laughed.

Forcing a nervous laugh it was quickly cut off as a loud thud and a shout children wouldn't want to repeat in front of their parents rumbled around the house.

"Speak of the devil." Kenny laughed. Laughing along as well Kenny stood up, placing his mug on the coffee table and walked upstairs without saying a word.

Staring at the stair case for a little longer I turned towards my hot chocolate, snuggling myself into the couch chair even more and smiling.

I am in sanctuary.
