It was night, and the man got out of his car and walked into the hotel. He was on his way to a business meeting and was only staying for the night.
He walked up to the lady at the front desk and got his room number and card. He was just turning away when she when she called, "And whatever you do, don't go into room 204." He nodded and kept walking.
He walked through long hallways with plush carpet and muffled sound. Then up the stairs. Then another hallway. He looked at the numbers on the rooms as he walked past. 201, 202, 203... He stopped. 204.
I really shouldn't, he thought, reaching for the doorknob. Then he stopped. No. And spied a keyhole. He bent down slowly, open his eye wide to see through the small space, and looked inside.
But all he could see with a blonde woman, standing in the corner, facing away from the door with her face in her hands. He straightened up, shrugged, and continued on.

The next morning, after he had washed and packed and was on his way down to turn in his card, he passed the room again. Curiosity overtook him. He bent down again, to peek into the keyhole.
This time, all he could see, was a red haze. That's weird, he thought to himself, and continued on.
When he got to the main office, the lady asked him "Did you look?" He nodded. She sighed, "Well then, I might as well tell you. A few years ago, a woman's husband was murdered in there. Now, all she does is cry in the corner, and hide her red eyes."
