Kat's POV
"We have to actually do something this summer..." Aria said, looking up from her laptop.
"We don't have friends." I stated, while putting a spoonful of peanut butter in my mouth.
"We'll get friends. Or it could just be us. We need to have fun. Not that I don't love sitting around, doing nothing." She replied.
"That's a good idea, but what could we do?" I said.
"Whatever we want. We do what we want." She said, smiling.
"No. We really don't." I rolled my eyes.
Aria is my best friend. My only friend, really. We don't ever do anything wrong. It's not that we wouldn't like to get into a little trouble every once in a while, maybe put some action into our lives, but we just never do. Maybe it's because we're lazy, or maybe it's because we're scared. But summer is the perfect time to change. Aria probably would do more things if she had a more willing friend. I just hate getting into trouble. The "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed" speech gets to me every time. But I say it's time to change. Taking risks is always fun.
"Just think about it, Kat. We need to have a thrilling summer." Aria said, pushing me out of my thoughts.
"Let's do it. It's not like we have anything to lose." I said, smiling.
Aria's POV
"WAKE UP NIGGA!" I yelled in Kat's ear that Friday morning.
"Do you always have to do this to me?! WHY DO YOU HATE ME?!" She screamed back.
It was Friday and we decided to spend our Summer weekends at Kat's house. There were ALWAYS parties down by her house at the river bottoms.
"GET YO' SHIT TOGETHER, LET'S PARTY!" I screamed from the bathroom as I was getting into the shower.
I quickly showered to the sound of All Time Low blaring from my pandora. We both got ready for the day and headed out to the river. When we got there it was only 3, so there weren't many people there yet. We decided to head over to our friend, Nicole's camper. She was always there on the weekends.
"NICOLE, LET'S GET THE GOLFCART!" Kat opened the door and screamed to Nicole. A few minutes later she finally arrived outside. We started up the golfcart and headed out on a drive. It was starting to get dark and decided we would get some alcohol from Kat's grandparents coolers. Nicole is 3 years younger than us, so she doesn't drink much, but for Kat and I, it was party time. We rode around on the golfcart in the dark drinking for a bit until we saw saw some people.
"HOLY FUCK THAT GUY IS HOT!" Kat exclaimed as we drove by the unknown boy's camp. We decided to keep creeping by for a bit until Kat screamed.
"ERMUHGERD! NICOLE, THAT'S TRENT. FROM LAST SUMMER. HE'S HOT NOW."
I had never been down to the river during the summer with Nicole and Kat, so I didn't know who they were talking about until they explained that they had hung out a few Summers ago with Trent and another boy named Zak. We kept creeping until we lost track of them. We decided to go get Kat and I some more alcohol. Yes, we were quite under aged to be drinking, me being only 14 and Kat being 15, but we really didn't care. It was the river, No one cared. As we were driving back down the road I noticed a boy that I had went to school with. His name was Griffin, and he was with Trent and Zak. Kat and I were already drunk, so of course we were the loud and annoying drunks that we always are. We were screaming at them telling Trent how hot he was.
"Ayeee! You're hot, you're going to hangout with us!" I yelled at the boys. And I swear, I'm not usually like that. I don't talk to boys much, in fact I hadn't even had my first kiss yet.
