Breaking Tradition

I don't own these names. Many of them are information given in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I hope you enjoy and feel free to comment any advice(though don't be too mean)

I got to platform 9 3/4 a few minutes before the train left. I'd spent the last three years watching James and Albus go and now it was finally my turn! I, Lily Luna Potter, was going to hogwarts! 

I ran through the pillar and came into the station. I took a moment to look at the familiar platform around me. Parents rushing kids onto the train, handing them forgotten things, kids leaning out the windows for last minute hugs and kisses. James ran past me, our parents still somewhere behind us. I didn't wait for them. I shouted to Albus "Last one there is a warty toad!" Then ran, giggling, as he chased after me. We managed to get there without our luggage falling out of our carts and started to load it onto the train. I picked up my cat, Misty, and started looking for my best friend Hugo. Hugo is my cousin, my Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron's youngest child. Their older daughter, Rose, is Albus' age. I started down the train when I heard someone calling my name from behind me. It was Al, in a compartment with Rose, as well as his friend, Emmett. I poked my head in "What Albus?" He looked at the ground. I realize that he was embarrassed to talk to me at school. Even in front of my own cousin! "Uh.." He said uncertainly "Mum wants to talk to you.." I walked over to the window and looked out to see my mum standing there. "Hello Darling.""Hi Mum. Al said you wanted to talk to me?" She looked into my eyes and put her hand on my cheek. "Yes, Lily.I just wanted to wish you luck. I know how long you've waited for this!" I nodded excitedly, "I can't wait! And even though James keeps telling me scary stories Al says its really great!" My mum laughed and replied "Well I'm glad you're not listing to James! Uh listen honey, I just want you to know you may be getting a lot of attention from the other students, but remember you are your own person you don't need to follow in your fathers footsteps, take your own path." I laughed back at her "You mean you don't want me to be a trouble maker like Daddy, or James?" She smiled, "Yes but I mean more then that too."  

The train started to move. My mum hugged me and my father ran towards us, away from James window, just in time to kiss me on the head. "Goodbye darling, have fun!We love you!" I waved at them "Bye Mum, Dad!" "Make sure you write a lot! You can use your brothers owl, I'm sure he won't mind! Just don't forget.." My mothers voice disappeared in the wind. They kept waving until we went around the first curve and could no longer see them.  

I gave Rose a hug, picked up Misty, waved to Al and Emmett, and set out to find Hugo.
