C H A P T E R_ 15

(Laxus)

Opening my eyes I saw a hazy morning light and Y/n sleeping in my arms. Her beautiful (h/c) hair sparkling in the sun. I smiled, pushing the hair so I could see her beautiful sleeping face more clearly.

'All mine.' I smirked to myself, unintentionally thinking dirty things, completely forgetting I was only in my boxers as my thoughts got more and more arousing. Then all the sudden I realised I had a boner... And It was digging into her thigh.

'SHIT!!' I mentally screamed as she lifted her head to look at me with an eyebrow raised and a frown on her face.

"Laxus..." her voice was low and sleepy, but the annoyance was still clear in her voice. "Uhhh... S-sorry." I scooted away from her quickly. She gave me a small smile however and moved herself up to kiss me on the cheek."Feeling any better?" I stretched and sat up, making sure the thick blanket was still hiding my lower half.

"A little." she yawned slightly. "Well I'm gonna go to the guild." I began to scoot off the bed, and I glanced over my shoulder to see her turning her head away so she didn't have to look at me almost nude. "You can look if you'd like~" I teased her a little earning a low growl from her.

"Laxus it's not even day one." she huffed as I continued to dress. "What do you mean day one?" I replied. Having finished getting dressed I walked around the bed to face her.

She looked at me quizzicaly, "W-Well I thought that since you well... Told me you l-loved me that y-youd be my b-boyfriend..." I just stared at her. I had never once heard Y/n stutter so much in one sentence it was unnatural. So if course, I took this opportunity to tease her.

"Pssh I don't wanna be your boyfriend."

Her eyes glazed over with rage but then smoldered over with sadness. "What?" her voice was quiet, and her body language was showing all signs of vulnerability.

"Yeah!" I smiled at her, trying to get her to catch on, "besides dragons don't have girlfriends, they have a mate. Therefore I don't want a girlfriend, but you're more then welcome to be my mate if youd like~"

She just shook her head while smiling. "Fucking Idiot." she chuckled then got up, stumbling a bit. "What even is the difference?"

(y/n Pov)

That was a really stupid question for me to ask. Because both my parents and my dragons had told me what a mate was, it's like a pre-marrage for Dragon slayers. I remember very clearly...

✧·°.- mom sat in her favorite chair by the fireplace in our small home, pushing her (h/c) hair out of her face before she spoke. She watched dad set little 5 year old me next to my older brother Ryos (a/n if u know who that is... Thumbs up. If not don't worry it'll be revealed further out in the story.) "Why do ya wanna talk to us mamma? Are we in trouble?" I asked quietly, semi afraid I upset my parents.

"No no Y/n. I needed t-" she broke off in a coughing fit, "to tell you something before I cough my vocal cords out." she chuckled darkly but gave me a smile. Sadly that wasn't the reason why my mother needed to talk to me that day, she was dying and felt she needed to tell me before she passed of a deadly strain of pneumonia... "Your father and I wanted to make sure that when your old enough Ryos... And eventually you little Y/n, that you tell a girl," she broke off to look at my brother before turning to me, "and eventually a man will ask you Y/n, to be your mate, not a boyfriend." Ryos stuck his tongue out, at that time he still believed girls were icky. I just tilted my head in confusion. "What's a mate mamma?"

She smiled. "When someone asks you to be their mate, they are picking you over everyone else. Because to certain special people, mate is for life, they can only have one and if they choose you it means they really really love you~." -.°·✧
I smiled sadly, realizing how much I missed my mom.

"Y/n are you ok? You're crying..." Laxus broke you from your thoughts and came to sit by you. "Its not me is it?" he asked worredly.

I shook my head and smiled at him. "Sure Laxus, Ill be your mate."
