As soon as the dropship landed, Rowan took in her surroundings. The smell of the air, the way the ground rustled beneath her feet. When she saw the others break into hell she decided to split. But not without Bellamy getting his two cents in first. He grabbed her wrist and spun her around. "Rowan, where are you going?" "Far away from here, good luck with this chaos." She spat in her best friends face. Bellamy gave her one hard look then let go of her wrist in defeat. He rolled his eyes then walked away. Then into the woods she went, going on nothing but instinct.
My breathing was uneven as I stood in an unfamiliar spot on the ground. I sat criss-crossed and picked up some leaves and began to examine them. The delicate leaf broke apart under my touch. I felt like an intruder in this new space. They had talked about Earth, telling miraculous stories about the amazing things below. I got up and ambled along a fallen tree. Sat on the tree was bright green algae, I let my fingers graze the foreign plant.
Hearing a rustling in the woods behind me I quickly snap my neck to see into the deep abyss of foliage. Tan fur darted between the trees and I stepped quickly to go see what it was. Slowly I made my way to a weary quiet river, a tiny fawn stood there, head low as it lapped up water. I took a step closer to see it, only to have my foot snap a twig and it's head twist towards me with great speed. It looked at me with its two faces and took a lunge at me. I jumped backwards only to lose my footing on the edge and it sent me rolling down a large hill with jagged rocks and loose branches.
