She sat in the midst of her tiny crowd,

Yet she was alone

Her smile so warm and sweet

Inside, she was cold to the bone

She'd wonder if life would ever change

From this painful one she lives in

Every night she lays in bed, thinking

Until her patience starts to wear thin

So sad and so lonely

Wanting the warmth in a pair of arms

Just wanted someone to hold her

To protect her from harm

Day after day, her inner demons grew

The crowd taking no notice of her pain

Her smiles dissipating to tears

One day it just started to rain

It thundered and crackled

and the rain came crashing down

̶ She finally let go

But no one seemed to care,

And she was still alone
