Misty clouds make a small clearing in the night sky; the full moon shining through. Quiet horror music plays as the end credits of a thriller show on the TV screen. A girl reaches her hand into a bag of popcorn, eating the whole handful as she continues to watch the ending of the movie.
A few rustling noises come from outside. She grabs the remote and mutes the TV as she listens to the noises. The rustling grows louder and she sits straight up in the couch. She turns the TV off and puts down the popcorn and remote as she shuffled her bare feet into her black school shoes. She quietly sneaks outside her house, to find what the noise was. She carries on following the noise, her loose shoelaces dragging across the grass. Her heart beat speeds up as she turns round the corner, jumping when she notices a wolf snacking from leftovers in bins. She looks over and sees the basement door was open - another wolf trying to escape.
The snacking wolf notices Maddy, the girl, and begins growling at her. Maddy stands still for a moment, taking in deep breathes and building courage up as she shouts "Get back inside!". The wolf pricks up his ears and takes a few steps away from Maddy as Maddy begins closing in on the wolf. The wolf pounces aside, growling as Maddy blocks him from escaping. Maddy walks towards him, forcing the wolf to backup towards the basement door. Maddy's eyes begin to turn yellow as her anger and fear builds up inside. The wolf snarls at her, noticing her eyes. Maddy growls back, causing the wolf to fall backwards into the basement.
Maddy's eyes change back to her normal brown colour as she leans over the basement opening. The other wolf suddenly jumps up, scaring Maddy as she quickly takes one of her shoes off and hit the wolf on the nose. The wolf falls back into the basement along with the shoe as Maddy rushes to close the door. She puts a long metal bar through the door handles to stop it from opening again.
She stands back and stares up at the moon whilst the wolves howl in the basement. She sighs, shaking her head in disappointment as she walks back inside.
