Luke's POV:
I'm in my study, organizing a business trip barely aware of my surroundings when suddenly, out of the blue, I heard: "We need to talk." Rachel stated, announcing her presence. I just looked at her. After a moment I said, "Can't we do this later? I'm kind of busy in case you didn't notice." "Are you kidding me? We're doing this now not on your own time" exclaimed Rachel. Sighing, I put down the pen I was clenching so hard and leaned back saying, "Fine. You want to talk, let's talk."
I was already having a bad day having to cancel some appointments and firing one or two employees after looking at security footage of them stealing from the customers etc. Also had a lot of paper work to do because my assistant had called in sick today especially since it was stock-day. So I really wasn't up to talking with how stressed out I was.
Shaking that dirty blonde head of hers, she continued, "This isn't working out." "This?" I inquired. "Yes. This relationship isn't a relationship anymore. It feels more like a contract than anything else. You're always working or away on business trips or in your study or on the phone; you never have nor make the time to spend with me. You don't take me out to dinner or the movies nor do anything romantic for me; it's like I don't even know who you are or who you've become. Who are you, Luke? Where's the Luke I had fallen in love with?"
I was taken aback at first then a sudden burst of anger flood through my veins, almost overwhelming me but not enough to take control completely as I lashed out. "Who am I? You're asking me who I am. I'm the guy that pays the bills, puts food on the table, have a roof over our heads, gives you money to go shopping, buys you gifts; pretty much gives you all that you desire without a second thought or even a question of why. Yet here you are asking who the hell I am. I'm the guy that works his ass off every day to keep your skinny, ungrateful ass healthy, dry and warm. All you ever do is complain, pick fights and make every darn thing about you. Well guess what, the world doesn't revolve around you, Rach." I exploded. Rachel just stood there, staring in utter shock.
"I've had enough of your shit. Time and time again, you pick meaningless fights about nothing literally nothing. You're always just looking for attention every way you can. So to answer your question, I'm still the same Luke, I had never changed. I just grew tired of your bullshit. It's about time you grow up, because nobody wants to be in a relationship with a nagging, brat like you."
"T-The L-Luke I knew w-would never had r-raised his voice at me like t-that" Stuttered Rachel. It's true that I've never raised my voice at her or any woman before. Closing my eyes, I inhaled deeply then exhaled, repeating the process a few times before I had finally calmed down; All the while wondering how I ended up dating an immature child. "Rachel, get out. It's over. I've nothing more to say to you. We're over." She gasped, "Excuse me? You can't just dump me like that." "I just did" With that I resumed my work like nothing had happen. She stormed out of the study with tears streaming down her face. After some banging around, I heard the front door opened and slammed shut. A few moments later, I heard car tires screeching as she drove away, edging my teeth.
