Awaking had always been peaceful, the gentle sensation of floating to the surface of water,a mild breeze arousing me to consciousness.

However once awake the gaps in my mind felt like disorientated visions, shattered mirrors reflecting only select parts of my surroundings. It was as if what I saw before me was total darkness only temporarily visible by flashes of light. The flashes infrequent and incoherent, like trying to piece together a shredded picture.

Once in the relam of fleeting conciousness,it only took moments for me to feel the pain ringing in my shoulder, clamping my free hand over my wound,a shocked gasped escaped my lips.

Fresh blood oozed out, trickling down my back, covering my hair in its thick substance.Unable to move. Panic quickly grew as my brain finally registered something sharp lodged into my flesh.

A sharp burning sensation overwhelmed my mind as I nudged the object with my fingers until after several minutes it finally slide out.Letting out a small sigh of relief I allowed myself to fall admist the floating sensation. As the waves of unconsciousness trickled down my body and my mind began to submit to the darkness.

Dropplets of lights flickered amongst the darkness as a warm sensation spread throughout my body. Opening my eyes fleetingly,I awoke to a bright light that stung my eyes causing droplets of tears to stain my cheeck. Like a parasite a thick black smoke made its way down my throat, twisting and sliding down my organs until every chamber of my lung had been evaded by this foreign passenger.

Forcing myself up I was greeted by hot flames creeping towards me.My head felt numb, blank. A nagging sound danced around my mind as I struggled to make sense of my sorroundings. I stumbled around drunk in my confusion.

Then slowly it hit me ".......Mum...Dad....Tommy..." . Making my way towards my door. I proceeded to open it only to find it locked. Anger and frustration took over me as I banged on the door, hoping that someone would hear my cry for help.

Wiping my tears with my sleeves my eyes caught sight of the symbols drawn on my door. Black circle ,triangles and numbers all woven together with ancient letters sprawled sharply in black ink. These symbols seemed similar to the ones in my mother's spell book,a sealing spell of some sorts. My mind spinned, the waterfall of information, pooling in my mind:
Someone wanted me and my family dead.

A shiver vibrated through me as panic and hysteria began to kick in.The metal handle had already began to heat up leaving an unbearable scorch that blistered my hand. Pushing it to the back of my mind.I quickly stood up,scanning the preceeding area for any alternative escape route. Grabbing the cup of water that was on my table,I threw it at the flames trying to buy more time, instead of qwelling it the flames roared louder.

There was only one explanation -"Black Magic".If black magic was involved then my greatest fear seemed even more concrete. Fear grew in my heart as the the smoldering heat danced on my skin.

Beads of sweat made congress on my forehead as dehydration overwhelmed my system. My knees weakned as the smoke began to overtake the oxgen in my lungs. Unconsciously I had already given up,my body frozen in a state of panic.Momentarily I felt hopeless, trapped in an engulfing inferno, its roaring flames inching closer and closer towards me.I knew,I didn't have long.

As if on cue a deep eery roar erupted outside my door breaking my feeling of hopelessness. Running towards my bed I quickly grabbed my teddy bear, ripping it open, flinging the mass of wool that resided in it to the floor. Taking my dagger from within it I proceeded to focus my eyes towards the window.Running towards it I collided with an unpenetratable force field that prevented me from getting any closer. Without even thinking I began chanting a spell. My mother would often sing it to me as a lullaby,in hopes it would help me rember.
