Fallen Kingdom

Chapter 5

(Elizabeth's point of view)

I couldn't go to sleep. What the queen told me before we left was still haunting me. She told me not to tell Logan where we had to go and why. I am not even sure the queen told him he had to choose a dragon. But I was loyal to the kingdom and to her, so my mouth was sealed.

"Well knowing Logan he will never get up on his own. So..." I looked around and found a stick. Logan was peacefully sleeping on the far edge of the cave.

"Aw. He seams to be having a sweet dream. It hurts my heart to wake him... Nah, it doesn't." I said. I lifted the stick with my powers and hit him softly.

"Wake up!" I said said to him when I  was done. He jumped up. At first he got into battle position. Then he finally realized that nothing out of the ordinary was going on.

"Hey! Why did you hit me. I was having a nice dream and when I woke up the first thing that I see is you!" Logan yelled. Maybe I hit him a little too soft.

"Don't forget that I am your sensei. We have to keep moving. Get your stuff put up and lets go." I said to him.

"Oh right. I thought we were still at the castle. By the way sensei where exactly are we going. And why did I have to join you? I had other plans." Logan said. I was right.

His mother never told him what was going on. That makes things harder on me. First I had to take him there with out him having a clue of what was going on. Then when we get there I had to explain what he has to do.

"Sigh. I will tell you every thing when we get there. Now please, lets get moving. I want to get this mission over with. And to tell you the truth your majesty. Flirting with girls does not count as plans." I said. No matter how much I wanted to explain to him everything that was going to happen. I couldn't. I had to follow orders just like every one else did.

"Okay. But what am I going to eat?" He finally said, when he saw that there was no food made.

"Nothing. I don't have time." I responded in a cold tone. All Logan thought of was food. That was the only way I could get him to train early in the morning. Bribing him with food.

When I looked back at him he was doing him doggy face. That technique never worked in the past. Why would he think it would work now.

"What do you think you're doing. That doesn't work on me. I am not like the queen. But if you want to eat that bad, I have some food." I opened up a bag that had the food we would have to eat.

I handed him the pouch and he started eating. Before we left I made some sandwiches for him. Because of course he could forget to bring some think as important. After that we were on the trail again.

We walked all day. I took the lead and didn't let Logan near the map.

A while back when I would train with Logan. I gave him a test. He would take me to the destination. If he took me there he passed. Logan was in charge of the food and the map.

That kid got us lost for three days. And the worst part is that he forgot the food. But Logan didn't want to give me the map. The last day I took the map and went back to the castle. When we got there, three search parties were about to come and look for us. Well.. Logan got an F under that category.

(Two days later)

"Hey Logan. We are on the border of your kingdom." I informed him.

"What so soon! How did we get here. More importantly why am I here for again?" Logan said.

Ugh! I can't take it any more. He Has been asking that same question every since we started.

"For the nine-thousand seven hundred thirty-fourth time and still in counting, I will tell you when we get there. Please try to be patient." I told him that so many times. But it seamed that what ever I told him came in from the right ear and out from the left one!

"Okay but when will yo-" He didn't finish his sentence when a tree branch hit him on the back of the head. "Hey! That hurt! Who did that?" Logan turned around.

"I don't know my lord I was in front of you the whole time." I lied. It was me who caused the tree to hit him. "From the map we should reach our destination by noon tomorrow." I looked at the map. I put it away before Logan found out where we were going.

(Night)

"Hey, Ely. Don't you ever think about your family? Don't you ever want to know what happened or why they, you know.." Logan said.

"They left me. Look my lord, like I said. What those people did and why they did what they did has nothing to do with me. I don't care why they left me. That maters now is the present not the past. Now please eat your dinner. This is the first time I made food for the journey." I said.

Logan complained like a big baby about his head. At some point it was funny, but I wasn't going to say that out loud.

It was dark and the fire was not dying down. I looked strait at the fire. Some time in the past I did care what they thought. I wanted to know what I did to deserve being abandoned. But then when I went to the orphanage. There the Granny told me that she was glad they left me. In a good way. Since then every thing didn't matter any more.

(Logan's point of view)

Finally real food!

Elizabeth's respond almost caused the fire to die out. She said it in a cold way. In some way it seamed that I said something that bothered her a little to much.

I have never asked about her past. Ely is a loyal guard. My mom and the rest of the people respect her. But some times they are afraid for her more than what they sould. I don't see it.

"Ugh. My head still hurts. Well good night. Thanks for the food." I said to Ely.

Ely is a person of little words. She don't talk much. But actions speak louder than words. I turned way from her. My sleeping bag was extended and I crawled in.

My sleeping bag was big and warm. Ely's on the other hand was not. She didn't bring one. So she sleeps on the floor. She doesn't mind. I don't know why she can sleep any where and be comfortable.

I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
