The morning illuminated the facility in a warm light, as they had recently added windows, but of course, they were not given the capability to open. No matter if they were stories high, the higher you went in the building, the more disturbances you would get from the patients.

It would be completely possible for one to willingly jump out, even if fully aware of their distance from the ground.

It's always a putrid thought, but it is indeed able to happen with many people contained in the walls of this building. And even more non-existent beings actually inside of these walls, taunting the others who were isolated from reality.

Lukas worked his way down the corridors, but couldn't resist stopping by the window and letting the sunshine soak into his skin. A low, relaxed exhale escaped his nose before returning to a patient, back into the claustrophobic insides of the building.

Berwald had done the same, opening the door with a silent twist of his palm. Tino lay asleep on a metal slab, have been finally let out of his chair, as long as he's asleep or on medication.

Berwald wanted to leave, but he did not wish to wake the other up, and also had this unusual fear that if he left, he would see Tinos crazed face, pressed against the glass. And he knew the chance of a man waking up and silently creeping after him were definitely unlikely, they do proclaim that insanity is contagious. Whoever "they" are.

It sent a shiver up his spine, and also increased the urgency he had to leave, contradicting his own thoughts.

He decided to pull through with the idea, letting his body turn towards the door and swiftly exit, locking it behind him.

Not such a peaceful morning as he had desperately hoped, but in comparison to others, it was okay.

A cold expression crossed his features, intimidation being the only describable attribute of Berwald's. He continued his march over to Matthias' room, peering in and shaking his head. This was getting out of hand. Something had already grabbed a hold of Matthias, who had already seemed like the least vulnerable person.

It was completely possible to take someone else he knew. Someone else he cared for. Lukas and him were like brothers, but he knew that Lukas had weaknesses. Everyone did. And having to deal with his best friend who had turned himself like that may eventually break him.

'Get your mind off of that, Berwald. Continue. Don't hesitate. Continue. Pause to look only at yourself, not them. Continue. '

He retreated from the peering glass, striding into his office. This would be an excruciatingly long morning. Right as he had sat down, the intercom buzzed to life, calling him down to the main desk, allowing everyone who had heard the notification watch him rise out of his seat and leave.

He was confronted by two other doctors, but of a much higher rank than he. He only tried to continue his stance without breaking his facade. A lot of eyes stared him down, until he entered the door to his boss who sat there. The man who provided him this job glared him down like an eagle, his senses sharp, and his glance definitely wasn't friendly.

"Berwald if you know anything about Matthias Køhler, we need you to say it. Now."

Nothing like the last word to send a shiver up your spine.

"I know his personality. He's an obnoxious idiot, but caring. Somewhat."

This earned a disgusted stare from the other man.

"We know this already. Is there any information about why he smashed another patients head in!?"

"He thinks he's a god."
