Harry is 10 when he first meets Louis. Louis is in the 5th grade while Harry is in 4th. Harry has a hard time because he likes boys; louis is his hero— leaving class early to make sure Harry is fine.

It's 8 years later, when they're both in college that they meet again and Louis realizes that he's still in love with this happy, dimpled boy.
