I stepped out of the fireplace and into the living room of the Burrow. On a chair I see two needles knitting a sweater all by themselves. Mrs. Weasley is in the kitchen trying to cook some new recipe. Fred and George motion me to come up to their room, and I do so. We go up to their room and begin to test some of the candies we've created. We have buckets for the puking pastilles, and tissues for the nosebleed nougats. Fred tests the puking pastille. Once he starts to... well you know, I look away and start the stopwatch. After about 45 seconds, he stops and is back to normal.
"How long was that?" asks George.
"Forty six point two seconds," I answer.
"That's long enough for someone to get out of class, don't you reckon?" asks Fred.
"Well yeah, but I don't think they should be puking for 45 seconds. What If they get out of class in like two seconds and they're just walking down the hallway barfing their guts out? I think we should make half of the candy the puking pastille and the other half the antidote. That way the person can swallow the antidote whenever they can stop puking," I say to them both. The twins look at each other then nod with a satisfied look on their face.
"Good idea, Granger. You're almost as smart as your sister," says George.
"I am just as smart as Hermione, I just don't make it as obvious as she does," I say to him. Harry comes into the room.
"Fred, George, your dad says we're leaving in a few minutes," Harry says. Fred and George nod. "Oh, and Mari, Hermione wants you," he says to me. With that he left. I heave a sigh and then leave to find Hermione. Just as I thought, she was with Ginny in her room.
"What do you want?" I ask her in a jokingly tone.
"Have you got your trunk?" she asks me. I nod my head and point at my trunk in the corner of the room.
"You brought it here, remember?" I say to her.
"Oh yeah," she says in realization. She gets up and pulls the trunk over to the bed she was sitting on an starts to unpack it.
"Hey I need that stuff in there for the world cup!" I tell her. She ignores me and just continues to unpack it. What a jerk!
"Have you got any smaller bag?" she asks me. I reach in the trunk and pull out my green coach bag that I had gotten for my birthday.
"What are you going to do with it?" I ask her cautiously.
"Just trust me." she says. I really do not have energy to argue with her right now, so I simply hand her the bag. She takes out her wand and points it at the pure.
"Capacious Extremis" she sa s. I look at the bag. It doesn't look any different. But do you know what she does next? She starts putting the things that were once in my trunk into my coach bag. I wait for the bag to start to bulge out from it being overloaded with clothes but it doesn't. When Hermione is all done putting all of my stuff in the clothes bag she looks up at me proudly. I look at her like she's mental.
"What in the name of Merlin was that?" I ask her.
"It's an undetectable extension charm," she tells me. "It makes the bag capacity much larger than it appears. I roll my eyes and grab the bag from her.
"TIME TO GO, CHILDREN!" Mr. Weasley shouts from downstairs. Hermione grabs what appears to be the bag that she packed(and used the undetectable extension spell on) for the world cup and we both rush downstairs. We say our goodbyes to Mrs. Weasley and I notice three extra Weasleys in the room that I didn't see before. One of them is Fred and George's older brother, Percy that I knew in my first and second year at Hogwarts. The other two I could only assume to be the other two Weasleys I had never met before, Bill and Charlie. The brother with the long hair and a somewhat stodgy, cool look came over to me.
"Hi, I don't believe we met before, you must be Hermione Granger, I'm Bill Weasley," he says. I flinch at the sound of Hermione's name, but play along.
"Pleased to meet you," I say with a bright smile on my face. "Forgive me, but how do you know who I am?" I ask him.
"Mum and dad sent me picture of "Ron's first friends" in his first year. I recognize you from the photo," he tells me. Hermione comes over.
"Come on Mari, it's time to go," she tells me.
"Mari?" says Bill.
"Gotta go!" I tell him. I dash out the front door to catch up with Fred and George. I run up them, cracking up.
"What's so funny?" asks Fred?
"I just totally tricked Bill into thinking I was Hermione. Then Hermione came up and called me Mari and he was totally confused," I say to him. After I say this both and George are cracking up. I walk over to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. "What's up, sister," I say to Hermione as I put my arm around her. Hermione rolls her eyes and Ron and Harry start to chuckle.
"Okay, everyone! Make sure you're keeping an eye out for the portkey!" shouts Mr. Weasley everyone except for Harry nods and proceed to walk while searching searching for any random old muggle items lying around.
"What's a portkey?" asks Harry. Merlin, he is so ignorant to the wizarding world. It's like he knows nothing!
"It's a small, random muggle item, commonly garbage, that will take you to a particular place at a specific time," says Mr. Weasley.
"Oh, so something like an old can or water bottle," says Harry. I roll my eyes.
"Not exactly," Mr Weasley.
"Blimey Cedric, I've found it!" We hear a voice yell from nearby. Cedric Diggory, a Hufflepuff boy from school drops out of a tree and lands on his feet. He runs over in the the voice came from and Mr. Weasley follows. We follow as well until we see an old man with glasses standing over an old boot. That must be the portkey. Mr. Weasley walks over to the man and gives him a friendly hug.
"Amos!" he says. We all look over at him, puzzled. "Everyone, this is Amos Diggory, and his son, Cedric!" A look of realization washes over our faces.
"Come on then, the portkey leaves in thirty seconds," say Mr. Diggory, checking his watch. We all gather around the boot and put one hand on it, and wait. Suddenly we start to spin and lift off of the ground. We spin faster and faster.
"Let go!" yells Mr. Weasley. We all obey and start to fall. We land hard on a hill covered in grass. Cedric, Mr. Diggory, and Mr. Weasley gracefully float down doing a kind of bicycle pedal motion with their legs. We start to walk towards the visible campsite where all of the commotion is going on. Mr. Weasley checks in while everyone else looks around. There's a muggle nearby who looks a bit confused. An obliviate charm's work I assume. After Mr. Weasley checks in, he pulls a tent out of his backpack and beckons all of the boys to help him set it up. Hermione, Ginny, and I wander around the campsite. We see Luna Lovegood, Padma and Parvati Patil, and Seamus Finnegan. Afterwards, we go back to the tent which is already set up. I walk inside and look around. It looks like a regular old muggle tent from the outside, but on the inside it's magnificent. There are appliances and everything. Here's the thing though, even witches and wizards use plumbing, and you kind of can't get that from a portable tent. So Harry, Ron and Hermione leave to go collect water. While they're gone, Fred, George and I discuss the Irish's strengths and weaknesses. We all three think the Irish are going to win against the Bulgarians. Now that is just plain logic.
